I always buy autographs for that reason as it saves money.

Just like Lambert Wilson for example. Never really paid attention to anyone in Catwoman except Halle Berry in that cat suit, but got the Wilson auto for his role in Matrix: reloaded.

I collect autographs for my favorite shows/movies such as Alias, Buffy, Charmed, and Tomb Raider as well as for an actor’s /actress’ filmography roles.

My next goal this year is a Molly Sims Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Auto Card (Delinda Deline on Las Vegas).

Just thought of a few more of mine related to this thread:

Amy Irving Alias auto: one of my favorites, loved her in the movie, "Bossa Nova" Luv You

Rutger Hauer Alias auto: tons of movies such as Ladyhawke, The Hitcher and, of course, Bladerunner.

Terry O'Quinn Alias auto: big fan of his in Millenium and also his portrayal of Howard Hughes

Adam Beach Dead Zone auto: does a fantastic job of portraying Navajo Tribal policeman Jim Chee in the PBS Mystery movies of the Tony Hillerman novels.

You can often get really desirable autographs via trading card which you just might not see elsewhere. The Mickey Rooney auto from the Twilight Zone suddenly went up in price as non card collectors suddenly twigged that a hollywood icon had signed. Think Sarah Michelle Gellar Buffy fame X many millions more people knowing who he was! Film actors them were the most recognisable people in the world. I'm sorry but a mere tv show actor just doesnt compare.

...I know I've said it before but the twilight zone autos are the biggest sleeper set out there for hollywood signers..Buddy Ebsen also signed ...he was in Broadway Melody of 1938 and was the original tin man in the wizard of oz before Jack Haley took over...and it is still his voice you hear singing in the movie

If I only had a heart..

As I look through my cards, I keep finding more that fit this thread:

Richard Kiel- Wild, Wild West auto (gotta love his work in the James Bond movies!)

David Warner - Planet of the Apes (played Sark in one of the landmark movies of my misspent youth: TRON!!! Big Grin

Mostly I buy autographs because I like an actor in that specific role (like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine... I would never buy his Van Helsing auto because I so don't like this film).

But I got the Steven Culp auto from Enterprise because I loved him in JAG and Desperate Housewives.

This is a superb thread, and the originator must be as inbalanced as I am.

I collect mainly LOTR, Star Wars and Dr Who, but I also collect Dame Judi Dench auto cards, and have cards from Riddick & Bond. I hope one day Judi will play Dr Who, but I guess that's just wishful thinking!!

Now now just remember Joanna Lumley played Dr Who once Luv You

Actually trying to get the autos ( let alone as cards ) of all those in the "Comic Relief: Doctor Who and the Curse of the Fatal Death" would be very challenging
i.e. as The Doctor
Rowan Atkinson, Richard E. Grant, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant, Joanna Lumley
as the Assistant .... Julia Sawalha
as The Master...Jonathan Pryce
and Roy Skelton as a Dalek voice
