Does anyone know who is going to be making all of the card sets since Inkworks is going out of buisiness

A few of Inkworks lines have been picked up by other companies. NECA took over Twilight/New Moon, Rittenhouse is now producing Lost, and Breygent did a great job with Ghost Whisperer.

As to some of the titles you mention, we may not see Sopranos or South Park again on cardboard, I don't think they were big hits, but I wouldn't be surprised to see someone do a new Simpsons set someday, several companies have already done it.

Inkworks other properties are still up in the air, Buffy and Angel are long gone, will we ever see more of these? Smallville is winding down, and some of the other shows are over now.

I would still like to see the Doctor Who set they had coming out released. It is such a huge show in the US I dont understand why the card sets are never picked up over here.

I think Doctor Who has had a lot of licensing issues, Inkworks really hit a snag trying to produce that set.

I'd like to see someone pick up Supernatural seeing as we're now left with the cards ending at season 3. Unfortunately, unless Warner Bros. changes their minds about no longer licensing their shows for cards, we won't see Supernatural again in the card market. Same thing would also be the case for Smallville.

I don't really see anyone taking up Buffy or Angel. Buffy perhaps could be resurrected, does have a large fan base and I know many fans would love to see sketch cards for this series. Angel on the other hand wasn't as popular and I know the season 5 set wasn't very successful, which is likely the reason no more were ever made after that.

I think the majority of Inkworks licenses were dead in the water, that's why they were attempting to spread out into Ghost Whisperer and Doctor Who.

Now I wouldn't mind some new shows being done, like Flashforward, which would make for a good set I believe.

at least they FINALLY put on their website so the novice collector doesn't get ripped off by thinking they can buy old boxes and still redeem cards..

But wouldn't "novice collectors" also believe the expiry date that is on all redemptions, all of which are long past?

Whats your problem Jim? You seem to be having a pop at inkworks in every thread I look at. The fact that inkworks redeemed card after expiration was a nicety not a requirement.

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

How is this a shot at Inkworks? Jim is simply making a point that it is about time that Inkworks posted on their website that they are no longer in business and that redemptions are no longer valid.

I think all of inkworks redemptions are past the redemption date, so that shouldn't really be an issue even to Novice's

Unfortunately there were several collectors who spoke up having bought boxes after Inkworks demise not knowing the redemptions could no longer be fulfilled as they have been for the last decade+.

There are many collectors who pop in and out of the hobby buying a box or two a year who don't frequent the boards. . . it is definitely a good thing that Inkwork's site now has definitive notification that the status quo has changed.

Wow, you know nice use of the rolleyes Smile Very effective in portraying your disdain for my question. You are obviously aware of the term emotive language? Things like finally when placed in all CAPS (FINALLY)and the term "ripped off" all add to a conclusion which I am not alone in drawing. Now I asked him a question biased not only on this thread but on another one in which he seems to be making another barbed comment about inkworks. I really am interested in what his problem might be, because I have seen other say things along the same lines in the past.

I am sorry that some collectors may have felt let down because Allan lost his business, and so they could no longer redeem there already out of date cards, but I imagine he felt a damn site worse about it. Feel free to respond with more rolleyes they so effectively make your points. Try an extra one I think four of them would really knock it home to me.

In this day and age, spelling mistakes should be a ping of the fast.

Absolutely right, the notification should have gone up months and months ago.

And even though it's finally acknowledged now, I still have to wonder what is the purpose of keeping this website running at all? These sites are usually turned off as soon as the host business shuts down because there is nothing left to promote or advertise.

I really don't understand why the plug hasn't been pulled yet, but at least it doesn't look as though its still an active website. What all people SHOULD know and what all people DO know are often two different things. Wink

the reason the website is still up is that i presume they paid for the site management for the year, like many companies do, until that year is up and the next bill isnt paid then i presume that is when the site would go down.

The site hasnt been touched again because nobody works for the company. The only people who work ON the company are the bankruptcy lawyers and they work for the vendors owed money and the courts to try and draw in any funds and close the company affairs down.

again a presumption is that because they have been contacted by many they asked someone to change the site to say out of business. They have NO remit to spend any money on a company that is out of business hence they cannot ask/employ anyone to change anything as they wont be able to pay them

The inkworks.com internet-domain registration expires in March 2010, anyway.

I don’t know, doesn’t seem like a flame war, just disagreement...besides, in other threads on this board people get compared to nazi's for disagreeing, this seems rather tame in comparison.
