I'm looking for a new way to display some of the better cards I have in posession. I'm thinking about getting a poster from Heroes and make something of a mashup by adding sketch and/or autograph cards on the poster.

That way you can look at the little treasures all the time instead of having to go through binders often.

Does anyone have any cool displaying ideas for cards?

And what would be the best way to 'stick' a card sleeves onto a poster?

You might want to first look at the display products offered by NSU advertiser Bags Unlimited. The have items specifically designed for displaying cards.

If you're determined to stick cards to a poster, I'd suggest that the very least you want to do is put the card in either a penny sleeve or top loader (or both) and then stick that to your poster. You certainly don't want to run the risk of whatever adhesive you use potentially damaging the cards.

Be careful when displaying the cards to not do so in direct sunlight. The UV rays tend to eventually cause bleaching of the cards.

Thanks for the ideas Kennywood. At Bags Unlimited I like those poster sleeves. I didn't know they existed. I didn't think about the sunlight factor, good point.

And yes, obviously I should at least attach a sleeve onto a poster, not the card itself Smile. I'm still thinking about going the poster way, cause I want to get creative with the displaying.

By the time I made something I'll post a picture.

Marc, the more I think about it, this could be a great way to show off some cards.
I would get a plastic poster frame, and mount the sleeves to the poster with two sided tape.
No need for top loaders, the plastic frame would hold the card in place, and it would be protected by the sleeve.
As Kevin pointed out, direct sunlight could be a problem, so maybe hang the poster on a wall that gets very little if any sunlight.

Once you complete this project, take some pictures and post them, we'd like to see what you did.

You can get uv proof glass or plastic for frame that would protect your cards and there is some great examples of what can be done to display cards here.

I'm in the process of framing my BSG autos at the moment. I can't complete it until I have all the autos, so I think it'll be a work in progress for a while.

Anyway, what I've done is put all the autos in magnetic holders and stuck them with sticky dots into a large shadow box frame with black cardboard as a backing. It really looks good and I can't wait till I can finally add the last of the autos I need.

I've done a couple of mini ones for my Supernatural pieceworks incentives so I can display them. I keep them out of the sunlight in my computer room, so I don't think they're in any dangerSmile

These are two examples that I have in my office. Both are done with a combination of cards and other collectibles. They are in shadowbox cases:

The pics aren't great, but you get the general idea.

Cool developments here. I've found a Heroes poster this week with lots of 'white space' on which I could attach the cards. When I get around on making the collage I'll post a picture.

I had a frame made to display some of my cards. It was expensive but worth it to have the cards on display rather than hidden away in a draw.

I have finally finished my first collage. I took a Heroes poster with lots of white space and attached the cards in double sleeves with a small piece of sticky gum (specially for hanging posters). All that I put in a glass frame and here is the result hanging on my wall Smile.

And yes... you are seeing my double autograph card in the center of it all which I pulled from a pack a few months back Cool.
