I just called Buena Vista Studios reference to the Disney Studios Collector Cards. I wanted to know when the next 2 packs, 22 & 23 were due to ship. I was put on the phone with Jacob the supervisor and he informed me that a management decision was made to cancel the rest of the program. So it looks like there will only be 21 packs plus the 2 D23 packs and the D23 Mary Poppins pack. So much for 61 packs in the series!

I'm ambivalent about the announcement in that while I'm also sad to see the series end, I'm glad that after just 3 more charges to my credit card, I'll have the whole set (minus some bonus cards and the 2nd print lithos) since I've received the packs up through #15.

At 21 packs of 8 cards, it ends up being a healthy 168 cards plus the 8 bonus cards which takes the numbering to 176 (along with the 7 different 2nd printing alternate images mini-lithographs there were, so 183 different cards in total), a pretty healthy set especially considering the larger size of the cards.

I'm OK without the 3 Mickey bonuses (97-99), the Disney Expo Alice in Wonderland (175) and the seven 1st print lithos, so it looks like be a 172 card set for me.

All of them together will still constitute a fairly heavy brick o' goodness.

Aghhh... this makes me sad. Frown But it's understandable. They were just TOO expensive for most people and with only being mail-order Disney probably had a tough time selling. My guess is most people cancelled after the first few shipments.

BUT... I am happy to say that I have the COMPLETE set. All bonus cards, second printing lithos, D23 Expo and bonus cards, envelopes, marketing materials, etc. Being a completist, this makes me happy.

Chesspieceface,
Can you imagine if I had to type the whole 61 packs out? There would be no room left to post anything else.

I'll be there Mike. I think I have card 103, but am missing cards 97-102. Looking forward to seeing the Disney stuff you have available.

I haven't got around to canceling my 2nd printing and just got billed again. Dang it, I have several extra envelopes now.

Now I just have to locate 175, and all will be accounted for.

Is 175 Alice in Wonderland or Mary Poppins?

I came to the party too late for this one - Shame they look like real nice cards and always love Disney products. Though I wouldn't be looking for whole sets I only collect particular films eg Lion King. Hopefully the Bay might have some stuff going.

Got my official cancellation letter in the mail today. Frown

Unfortunately after just Series 1, this is officially dead. Really disappointed with Disney on this.

Did Pack #21 end up being the final one in the series?
