Last year I tracked down the Roger Dean promo "Green Dragon". It was with much glee that I added it to my collection.

This year after much searching I finally tracked down a Veronica Mars Season 1 promo P-SD. I know its not rare or anything but it just eluded me for so long. It was supposed to be put in one of Inkworks year packs, but it didn't make it; it was handed out singularly at San Diego instead.

Has anyone else finally got that elusive card they have been searching for?

There are 2 sets of DC comic backing boards (6 and 9 boards in the sets respectively). The backing board has 8 uncut character cards and was used for a promotional 3 pack of comics in the mid 1980s.

These boards are not particularly rare. However, one particular board has been on my want list for several years. Every eBay listing with multiple boards has never had the one I need to complete my set.

Anyway, I was going to send some Batman cards to someone and he wanted to send something in return, checked out my want list and found this backing board for me.

I am very happy to finally complete that set. Very elusive for no particularly good reason, but it is a great feeling to trade it down, particularly as it was reasonably accidental.

I have a number of Simpsons promo cards like that on my list. But what is really hard for me to even find are a number of wrappers! These aren't even that old, but to even find one wrapper or pack of these cards?? I can't believe it. For example:

-Star Wars Trilogy- Special Edition- Hobby edition
-Star Wars Finest
-Star Wars 3DI
-Star Trek 35th Anniversary
-Enterprise- Season 3
-Heavy Metal- The Movie and More
-Men In Black Series 2
-Sliders

And so on- all these are from 90's to a couple years ago. I can find tons of older wax packs & wrappers from the 80's & back, but the newer stuff? Not very often. It took me a few years to even find something like a Star Wars Galaxy wrapper. What gives???

There are collectors who saved the old wax wrappers but when they changed to the foil machine things not many people collected them, they had somehow lost something that the earlier wrappers had, they no longer had any nostalgia feel to them.

Komodo, do you need Sliders packs, I have a few sealed + some opened (Think I might even have a few sealed boxes!), if interested let me know what you have to trade.

KOMODO,
I saved a lot of my wrappers from over the years and I know I have the Star Wars ones you listed for sure, and maybe a few of the others.
I am out of town tomorrow until July 15th, but shoot me your address around the middle of July, and I'll send you the wrappers I have.

Hey Froz1- my "Have" list is located here:

http://komodo.freehostia.com/Tradecards.htm

It's a bit out of date... it also links to my "Want" list, plus my email. Send me your want list & we'll see if we can work something out Smile

chesspieceface- I don't see your email listed in your profile, but I'll try to remember to remind you when you get back.

Thanks guys!
