Since I still have the title of Contest Czar and it has been a super long time since we have had a contest. Let's have one NOW!!
Here are the rules. The first person to answer the following three questions Correctly and post the answers below will win. All the answers are on cardtalk.

What is the prize? A collection of Topps Constitution and Declairation of Independence regular, chrome, and holocrome insert cards. 3 Americana II ring king costume cards, a random autograph card, and a Charmed Forever card set.

1. One of my favorite card dealers has resurfaced on card talk after being away for a while. What is the name of the card dealer?

2. My son and I have recently pulled off a great feat in autograph hunting(well for me anyway). What two cards were pulled and what is their connection to each other?

3. What card sets did my wife like in the early 90's?

Good luck!

Hmm. . .

1. Bob Mainwaring

2. Ben Browder and Claudia Black from Stargate -- the connection being that they were both in Farscape, and completed your 'Farscape' set.

3. The Hildebrandt card sets.

Close?

My guess is a little different on the autos.

1. **Bob Mainwaring of Bob Mainwaring Collectibles**

2. **1 box of Superman Returns - Brandon Routh auto; 1 box of X2 - Cyclops (James Marsden) auto**
Both films were directed by Bryan Singer and James Marsden was also in Superman Returns.

3. **the Hildebrandt card sets**

Contest can end fast sometimes and the fact that Jon is a moderator is a non issue. Everyone is allow to participate and he had to search for the answers just like anyone else would have. One of the MAIN reasons why I stopped the contest was comments/complaints because someon did not win the prize or imply that someone should not have won or that it did not go in their way. Still it was fun. I am of the mindset to lighten the mood a little so keep watching cardtalk to see when a new contest will pop up!

It won't work Barrett. All that will happen is you will get frustrated (again) and people will complain (again) and be snippy (again) and then they'll be done and over with (again).

Plus - last time I checked Smile Harris had to approve all contests to make sure that they were "fair" for everyone... But maybe that's changed since eons passed when we last had a contest ...

"Once upon a time...we had a contest Czarette, then Czar. Those days are gone. In the void left behind, a few have wanted or may want to tread the contest path.
In order to make sure the forum users have fun contests and the board isn't negatively affected, NSU would like to post this unofficial contest comment:
Any contest needs to have it's rules drawn up in advanced and mailed to either Harris or a mod before posting it on the boards..
What we are looking for are things in the contest that might run up NSU's bandwidth or people's post count or could get NSU into any legel troubles. By allowing us to peek at the rules, we may help avoid a pitfall you hadn't thought of that may end up making a better contest for you and a better envirnment for NSU.
Feel free to post any comments to this comment, so that we can review our stance and make sure we do our part right
ALSO: Giveaway's don't need pre-approval Just contests"

Oh, well. Maybe, if a mod or Harris could take the Contest Czar title away that would keep me from wanting to do little contest/giveaways.

I don't think that rule ever applied to the Czar/Czarina. And we haven't had a contest around here in so long that I probably would have let it slide anyway, so long as it did not have a negative impact on those things Joanna pointed out (bandwidth, etc.).

I think Barrett was just trying to liven up the place, and for that, I am grateful.

Barrett, if you really want me to remove the title, I will, but I see no need. Please let me know (here or by e-mail).

Contest are fun and you have to be indeed fast.

Maybe you can use an email instead of a post here.
This way the contestants won't know the answers.

You could also keep the contest going on for a week and then select someone from all the correct answers.

Contests are great - don't stop.

Maybe just try to figure out a way to get more participation so that more people can get excited about it - ala Peter Cloet's suggestion.

Very nice of you to make the gesture none-the-less.
