some rare cards have no price next to them - only a "spec" or "N/A"
what is the difference between the two? Is one rarer/more valuable than the other? |

na is not avilible or not accounted for and spec youll have to ask someone else but i think it does tell you in the mag just before price list what all things mean

N/A I would say indicates a new product where not enough of that card have been sold to give an accurate price.
Spec. indicates that the card does not come up for sale very often and again there is not enough information to give an accurate price. |

Spec stands for speculative and often does mean that the card is relatively expensive because there are probably lots of people after very few cards. However, it is more about the fact that few cards exist rather than some price level and is used for cards such as very rare cut signatures.
I hadn't noticed the n/a before, but it looks like they are cards that are not necessarily rare/unique, but the guide compilers haven't been able to get any information, as Triple-Frog says. If you do have an idea of some of these prices, there is a link from the NSU main page to submit price guide suggestions (with some evidence). ____________________ Trade list (mostly DC, LOTR, Stargate) Sketches for trade: DC, Marvel, LOTR and other |

Alternatively:
Spec - This stands for 'spectacularly expensive'. Re-mortgage your house, sell your friends into slavery or donate bodily organs if necessary to obtain this card. (It can also mean 'spectacles' - see reference to John Lennons glasses up for sale in General Entertaiment Discussion, for some idea of price). N/A - This means 'nothing at all' (the oblique is used instead of @ to save on typing ink). These cards aren't worth the card they're printed on. A total waste on time, effort and money. If you're unfortunate enough to be landed with one of these cards you are in a bit of a dilemma about what to do with it. To this end I have, at no expense to myself whatsoever, set up my own card 'recycling' centre. E-mail me for my address and then send the cards to me and in the interest of global harmony I will convert them to something else. (£££$$$). It hope this has been of some help. ____________________ My other hobby is just as expensive! |

Maybe it varies from country-to-country, but in the United States, N/A means not applicable or not available. |
