NSU Card Talk Forum’s Secret Santa Exchange

**********************RULES PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW***************

• The purpose of the Secret Santa Exchange is to have FUN! It is a way for members of the NSU Card Talk forum to interact with other members they may not have contacted before and/or to get reacquainted with ones they know.
• You must be a registered member of the NSU Card Talk forum as of October 23rd , 2007 to be eligible to participate.
• Please address all e-mails to MsKristy19@aol.com with the topic of NSU SECRET SANTA in the subject header. Please do not send a copy of these rules with the form to Kristy.
• All forms should be sent (via email) by October 31st, 2007. Late forms will NOT be included in the Secret Santa Exchange. NO EXCEPTIONS!
• Between November 1, 2007, and November 15th, 2007, you will receive an email from MsKristy19 with the name and mailing address of the NSU member you have been matched with. DO NOT exchange names among yourselves if you are participating in the Secret Santa Exchange (it takes all the fun out of it). If you’ve requested to ship within your own country you will be matched with someone in your own country. However, if no one in your country is participating, you will be contacted via email by MsKristy19 to find out if you want to continue in the Exchange. While everyone will hopefully be matched up in the primary category they selected it may not be possible (so make sure you choose two categories).
• All gifts should have a minimum value of ten (10) US dollars according to the latest issue of Non-Sport Update magazine. If you wish to send a gift of a higher value that is your decision and yours alone. There is no guarantee that others will do the same.
• All gifts should be mailed to arrive on or before Christmas Eve, December 24, 2007. All shipping costs are the sole responsibly of the shipper. Be aware that shipping does take longer during the holiday season and that shipping overseas can take several weeks.

Changed the year from 2008 to 2007 so as not to confuse anyone.

Thanks for doing this again, Kristy!

In case anyone is stuck for ideas as to what to give, don't forget all of the following possibilities:

  • NSU Subscription Renewal
  • The Encyclopedia of Non-Sport & Entertainment Trading Cards
  • NSU Merchandise
  • Card Talk Merchandise
  • Or anything else from the NSU Store.
  • How about something from one of our Advertising Retailers?
  • And who wouldn't love a commissioned sketch card from one of our talented artists?

So don't wrack your brain too hard trying to come up with something special. There are lots and lots of opportunties to give that one gift we ALL would want!

At least it'll work out an even split.

2778 is the number of people who have bothered to register, but that's not the number of people who actively participate on Card Talk. As of the July "Look Who's Talking" report, the active member count was 331. So that's about a 14% participation rate. Not impressive, but it could be worse.

It doesn't have to work out to an even number. Say that you, wolfie and I were the only participants. Three's obviously an odd number, but all we would have to do is I give to you, you give to wolfie, and wolfie gives to me.

Kristy's really good at matching up people, so there won't be a problem.

Great list, hopefully everybody will be pretty happy with his gift.

And don't forget that maybe not everybody checks all the forum sections.

Be sure you update your want lists.
I know that is the first think I look at when I get my name.

Ok, I will post a new one pretty soon.
I've been working on updating my trade and want list for almost a month (one week without laptop). So that I can finally start trading again with a solid list.

Or if you have people who don't have the time to make a want list you can also check out the posts that they have made on this forum to see which releases/topics they are interested in.

I ended up getting something for my Secret Santa last year that wasn't on their want list, but was a release that they had been excited about and it turns out that they were about to buy what I gave them and then didn't have to. Sometimes with want lists, people know what to expect and I like to do a little bit of thinking and digging before I buy a gift for someone Wink

That being said, I'll try and get a want list up, but with finals and papers looming, it looks like that will be yet another task that will not be accomplished this year...
