Now, now, that's not going to happen. Crosby is the best player in the league and none of the goons will touch him just like no one ever went after Gretsky. Even the dirty hockey players can't go after the best players. If an opposing star gets seriously hurt on a foul or in a fight then your own stars become targets. Its a gentlemen's agreement.

Anyhow Detriot will hoist the Cup again, so you should be happy. Smile

This series has become interesting again! The Wings have had the better of the play so far, Fluery was outstanding last night, but if they can come up with a win at home, it would be great to see a game 7.

That was a terrific game, triple overtime and I had a hard time staying awake at work today.

I'm ready for it to go 7. Metal

Now the detroit coach is wining about the penalties. I tried to be fair but for the first 2 games and somewhat still Detroit does get away with a lot of hooking and obstruction. The 2 goalie interference calls against detroit were weak but that was the same call made against the pens when Osgood obviously took a dive.

Being a huge pens fan I have to disagree with Crosby being the best, GREAT players show up in the big games and with one exception he hasn't shown up in the Cup like he should. Malkin hasn't scored and he and Hossa still have more playoff goals. I would love to see them put staal on a real line or give him some power play time not just the last 20 seconds. Putting Crosby, Malkin, Hossa, Malone on the power play isn't working maybe it's time to give other guys a chance..

I think that a lot was missed by Gonchar coming back on the ice after obviously being injured and setting up the winning goal mainly because Sykora called that he would win the game. And I think it's obvious that the pens will not be able to even keep part of this team intact and I see them losing at least Hossa, Malkin(agent has said he will NOT take a hometeam discount like crosby) and if they keep putting Staal on checking lines he may very well go somewhere else.. And Fleury has upped his asking price this year with his play especially after monday night..

that game, was a blown game. first off, terrien was whinning, crosby was whinning the entire time up till that game. the refs invented calls, they let pittsburg obstruct all night, the nhl is trying to get pittsburg to win, and if they keep giving 8 mins of powerplay in overtimes to the pens , 2/3 of the calls being phantom calls even the pro pittsburg annoucers could see, then you know whats up.

lol everyone is pro pittsburgh they wouldn't be down 3-2.. Even the announcers point out penalties NOT called on Detroit. Af far as your fake penalties then I guess the one the called when osgood flopped was fake?

It officials are letting them play for the most part but after 10 penalties they don't call they finally have to call one.. Detroit has gotten 21 power plays so far so it's not like they aren't calling penalties on the pens..

Goaltender interference is a penalty and offensive in ice hockey whereby a player is found in the goal crease when a goalie is establishing their position in the same area.

Under the NHL rule book (# 78), this will result in a minor penalty to the offending player and goal being disallowed if the player a scored upon as a result of being in the goal crease

So those WERE penalties just as the one was earlier when osgood went down. That blue area is there for a reason..

Oh thank god. what a great game. I knew the refs would try to keep helping the pens like they did all series by giving them that powerplay at the end like they have all series. Its great to see the wings with skill and smarts could beat the pens with ref in trying to make them win and all the hal gil/talbot/gary roberts career ending cheapshots. Go wings, im so happy!

Well, my Penguins did really well to get to the finals this year, but it wasn't meant to be. It was close there a few times but the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup.

And while I'm obviously disappointed by the results, I will have to admit that the Red Wings put on a hockey clinic that 3rd period last night. They completely shut down the Penguins and certainly deserved to win that game.

It'll be interesting to see the team that Mario Lemieux can put together around Sid the Kid for next year when Lord Stanley's Cup will finally return to the Steel City.

Funny, I thought only us Ranger fans felt the Penguins were getting all the calls. Wink

I wouldn't feel to bad. Considering how young the Penguins are, barring any serious injuries, the Penguins should be in the thick of things for quite some time.

totally agree. Btw, we got 3 goalie interference calls against us, when his skates were outside the crease and fleury came OUT to meet holmstrom and one time i think it was drake...we also had 2 goals called back, on calls you cant find...but alas, game over, we beat both teams out there...and as gretzky and messier and even ron mcclain have said, you gotta lose it before you can win it. the pens know what they need to do (beside get some more susbtantial defensemen who can stay at home AND work the powerplay not just one or the other)...and they will have their day, im sure of it. would be great to see a rematch though next year in the finals.
