Most of us know that Mad Monsters was the next topic to be on trading cards from the Mego Museum. Those are shipping now to Distributors of the Mego Museum (I am not one and I do not have the cards).

A checklist was posted showing what Mad Monster cards are coming out and other series of cards that are coming down the pike:

Here is the checklist for the Legendary Heroes & Monsters series.

Mad Monsters
66. Red Dracula
67. Blue Frankenstein
68. Dracula
69. Frankenstein
70. Mummy
71. Wolfman

Super Knights
72. King Arthur
73. Black Knight
74. Sir Galahad
75. Ivanhoe
76. Sir Launcelot

Merry Men
77. Robin Hood
78. Little John
79. Will Scarlet
80. Friar Tuck

Super Pirates
81. Blackbeard
82. Jean Lafitte
83. Captain Patch
84. Long John Silver

American West
85. Buffalo Bill
86. Cochise
87. Davy Crockett
88. Sitting Bull
89. Wyatt Earp
90. Wild Bill Hickok

Remember, only the Mad Monster cards are shipping now, the rest over the course of the next year it sounds like.

Mike.

The Monster cards don't do much for me, but I'm definitely looking forward to all the rest.

Fast and Furious trading over there. Got my Monsters and have 12 cards left to complete the rest of the set. Lots of fun. Only one problem. I'm now spending more time on that site and even bought some of the repro Star Trek issues and an original Fonzie!

More junk to delight my wife with! Twak

Sorry if this has been covered before, but what's the best way to get started with the Mego cards?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave you need to sign up on the Megomuseum site and then go on the forums and let people know who you are and that you are intrested in the cards.

People will come on and offer to send you a few or if you are quick you may snag one of the starter sets which go on offer on the forums now and again.

Patience is the key.

I signed up on the Megomuseum site back in October and posted in the card forum asking for help getting started, but I never got a reply. I'll try again.

Thanks!

unless you hook up with some of the new guys over there, you really need to take the time to post on other forums other than the card site. A lot of the old timers definitely shy away from people just hanging out to get the cards and not be a part of the site. I mean, you posted once in October asking for help with the cards but haven't posted since. Trust me, just be a part of the site and people will open up to you. Also, you have opportunities to get starter packs from Palitoy through the forums as well as on eBay (paying shipping and handling). Good luck in your quest!!

As John says, #86 Cochise is out, as is #90 Wild Bill Hickok. I have managed to get both.

They have also started reprinting some of the hardest to get cards. Cards 1, 2, and 3 have been reprinted. The fronts are the same, but the backs are different (posted in another thread somewhere) so for us completists, 2 of each of the first 3 cards to try to track down.

There are also 2 cards called Plaid Stallions that I am not really familiar with, but promote the site called plaidstallions.com. The cards are numbered 01 and 02.

Last week was the annual Mego Meet and I hear there were lots of cards handed out there, just not sure what new ones came out. No one on the Mego Museum site has really said what cards were there (not their priority I guess) that I can find, but someone is supposedly sending me the new cards that were available so I hope to know more soon.

All of a sudden they appear to not be putting the cards out in any particular order. They say that they are messing with our minds by doing it that way!

Hopefully we can all keep each other updated...

Mike.

Another update, I just found a thread on Mego Museum which says that #87 Davey Crockett was going to be handed out as well as the reprint of Wonder Woman (card #3).

Plaid Stallions cards 3 and 4 were also made available at the Mego Meet:

I also received a color variant on card no 67 Blue Frankenstein one front is very dark blue the other is almost purple.

although the scan doesn't really show the purple very well.
