If they are being sold, I'll hold off on listing them in the Price Guide. In a free market we know they are worth no more than $2.00 if produced in a reasonable quantity.

Whoooo, hold the phone, all the promos ever made are being sold, you would have to take them all out of the book.

there has to be a difference between promo cards that are freely available at shows or by post (which might later be sold) and those that are ONLY availabe as a 3 or 4 case incentive or being sold by the dealer - are these true promo's?

I think you could ask that question for the rest of your life and get different answers, if a card is produced that promotes a set and people are talking about the set because of it then it must be a promo as it is achieving it's purpose and promoting.

I don't consider them to be promos but sometimes I collect them anyway. Just my 2 cents on the subject...

What do we call the new breed of cards--not case or dealer incentives--that are sold at shows like San Diego, which specifically advertise artists' websites or artwork, or even upcoming card sets ? Are they promos ?

I'm not talking about cards produced by companies like Breygent or Cult Stuff, but these recent artist cards that are not given away for free
