I take it that you mean that the cards, not the promo, will only be available through the internet ?

The promo, so far, does not appear to be widely released. Maybe more will pop up soon.

Incidentally, this promo looks to be different from the Happy Jack one that came out a few months ago, for the same set.

I was told that Topps is not doing anymore art cards. If this is series 1 then future sets might be just updated reprints. I thought these sets were successfull but what do I know? I guess this may be an experiment for direct sales over the internet. I guess dealers will be able to order them but no retail outlets like Target or Walmart. I am not sure how the promos will be distributed but check your normal outlets and hope for the best. The promo is not numbered and is not produced by Happy Jack. It does not mention that this is an internet only set that is just something I was told about.

Greetings, my name is David Gross. I did all the writing and painting for this set as well as planning out the concept for the set. I painted about half of the All-New Wacky Packages and did some GPK as well. When Topps decided to suspend the All-New series, GPK and other art cards (temporarily) I proposed this set to fill the void. It was decided that it would be good to use this as a test for online only sales so you will be able to get it exclusively at the Topps Online Store (of course secondary marketeers will probably sell it on Ebay and such). The set should be out sometime in August and is chock full of extras including Jay Lynch sketch cards. EVERYONE that buys a box will get a sketch card. The sets are designed to be like a 17th series of the original stickers which will parody 1970s products that Topps had not done at that time. All new artwork in EVERY series, no reprints. 33 stickers each set with 9 piece old school style checklists, boxes and wrappers (well, Heritage style instead of wax). More info to be announced soon.
Thanks!

David, let me be the first one to welcome you to this great forum!! Thank you so much for this great info! It is always a treat to have one of the artists of our favorite hobby join us here on the forum and offer us a professional perspective on the cards we love! I, personally, at the age of 42, have been a fan of WP since 1973 - when I was only 7 and when the WP 16 series set started - and it was WP that first got me interested in trading cards as a whole. To me, it still stands as one of the FUNNEST (is there such a word?) sets ever created and the epitome of what makes this hobby fun (the highlight: opening a pack and never knowing what you're gonna get). I think this set - if it's exactly as you described - will be a real inspiration from Topps! Thanks and welcome again, and visit often!

Geoff

David:

Any idea when Topps will advertise/sell this on their Website?

Hi everyone, first, sorry I've not had a chance to come on and talk more. Been working out the kinks on this series.

I hear that there will be a pre-sale at the very beginning of September and shipping of the boxes should be before September ends.

Jay is doing some insanely awesome work on the sketch cards.

They will be including many great freebies inside each box. This really is a collector's dream package.

Hope everyone like the series!
