I did actually consider Comic Ball as a pivotal set for other reasons than just the holograms. I distinctly remember this being one of the boom sets that started the 90's explosion. Not to mention the link between sports and non-sports (see fans of the game wasnt the first) and it spawned several follow-on series.

Interesting stuff about the Musicards if your time table is correct it would just fall into one of those "before their time" things. Sort of like music styles. Usually the first to do something doesnt get the credit but the one who makes it popular does.
