Don't get me wrong, I like Stamps & Coins, I have tons of them. But I don't want to see and Advertisement for them in my Trading Card Magizine. That's why I subscribe Coin World. I subsubscribe to NSU for card information and card Advertisements. My two cents, take or leave it. John

Well, considering it's billed as a Stamp, Coin and collectibles show, I don't see the problem.

Most anybody willing to pay for a full page ad for something reasonably relevent can't be all bad. That kind of revenue helps Harris and Co. pay the bills for the magazine and things like Card Talk.

Easy enough to skip over that page if it's not for you, I would think.

Ed

A few years back I used to set-up at a show advertised same as the ad.There were sports cards as well.I always did well because I was one of the few that carried non-sports stuff.
As a matter of fact,my business cards were titled "No Sports Stuff" Big Grin
I still have a few left.

Amen! Exactly.

Otherwise, you might not just be skipping over that page but a few more. Ads make it possible to bring you articles, the price guide, etc.

If I'm not mistaken, INKWORKS has made appearances at this show in the past, and may be there again(I don't know if they are or not)That in itself would be reason for me to go to that show IF I was in Vegas Smile

Alan Caplan, the head of Inkworks sits on the board of that show. This particular show I almost went to a couple years back... it was the Vegas Non-Sport show or something like that - last year it was called the LVCC - Las Vegas Collectibles Convention - from toys to cards to firearms (yes, FIREARMS) were to be found at that show. They have obviously had some format changes in the past few years lol but anyway, if Inkworks will be there, why shouldnt they advertise it in NSU? Heck, if someone wants to advertise their washer and dryer on NSU, why would you say no?

Dan~ I don't think Allan sits on the board of this show. You sure about that?

But you are right about the other stuff. The first year, it was the Las Vegas Comic Con. We were there and unfortunately, it was not the best of shows, at least for us.

I am not sure what happened the second year.

This year, we were going to go but unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, we are unable to attend. Too bad, really.

We have added the Big Apple Con to our list of shows that we will be at, however. You can find that list, along with links, right here.

I pretty much got the response I expected. One page doesn't bother me, but will it stop at just one page? Five years down the road will every other page in the magazine be advertisements? I know it helps pay the bills or make more of a profit, but I have been turned off by more than one publication that started as good read and became nothing more than a bound pile of advertisements. I hope that does not happen with NSU because I really do enjoy the Magazine, but could do with out the price guide. Two more cents.
