Episode 30 is uploading as I type this - give it an hour or so and it should be on the CardCast website, iTunes and elsewhere!
It's the annual Artist Special and features interviews with Ted Dastick, Jr., Danielle Soloud, Axebone and Jason Maclellan and runs to nearly 2 hours...
It is also the LAST Artist Special as from now on, I will be creating a second podcast, accessible in exactly the same way and from exactly the same places, called UK CardCast Behind The Canvas - this will be a separate podcast just featuring artists (as and when I can get one to talk to me!)
The regular podcast will continue, of course, for as long as I can still produce it!
Au Res.,
Paul

I'm sorry to announce that UK CardCast is taking another break, and it could be permanent.

This afternoon, the company forwhich I worked went into receivership, which means I am, as of this monent, unemployed.
I need to concentrate in finding paid employment if I am to continue keeping a roof over my head and food on the table, and I need to concentrate on raising a certain amount of money to deal with things my weekly salary used to (just about) cover.
So, all hobbies go on hold. My apologies to all for this; hopefully I will be able to get something soon and so get the podcasts running again- if that IS the case,I will make sure that anyone scheduled to appear on the show will take priority!

In the meantime, thank you for listening and for offering some amazingly friendly feedback - it was all a lot of fun for me, and I hope it was for you too.

Au Res.,
Paul

UK CardCast is BACK!!!
After a lengthy break (which will, I sincerely hope, be the last enforced break I have to take for a very long while!) what I am choosing to call the start of "Season 2" of UK CardCast is now online and working its way around iTunes and other podcasting services - it should be available to download directly from the CardCast website as I type this.
There are actually TWO items to download - Episode 31, entitled "Back! Back! BACK!!!" features Don Norton and Harris Toser talking about the 10th Chicagoland Show (featuring an interview with Mark McHaley), with Harris popping back later in the show to preview the NSU stand at the upcoming Memorabilia show in Birmingham (Nov 20-21)

Episode 31a is an interview I couldn't quite fit into the above - it's Katie Cook talking to Harris at the aforementioned Chicagoland Show.

Don't forget to download both parts, as some podcast services do not always automatically download all new items!

The NEW show, "Behind The Canvas" is being recorded in batches and will be available online in a couple of weeks.

It's GOOD to be back, I tell ee!
Au Res.,
Paul

Paul, glad you are back in operation. Listened to our talk about the Chicago show - nicely done, you make us sound almost intelligent with your masterful editing.
Will listen to Katie's segment tomorrow...

As always Paul a very informative piece of broadcasting. Thanks as always - have missed the card talks very much. As for a few artists to interview: - you could try my countryman Andy Fry, the very nice Canadian David Desbois or that wonderfully talented American Len Bellinger. Obviously there are loads more................

Thanks for the suggestions Steve! I will bear them in mind... Smile

In the meantime, the first episode of Behind The Canvas, the new UK CardCast show, is now online and working it's way around the servers of the world - it features Fred Wheaton, who has worked on a number of sets for Topps, including Wacky Packages, Garbage Pail Kids and Hollywood Zombies. The episode will be in the usual places (iTunes, the Internet Archive, etc.) and the show website can be found by clicking the BTC link on the UK CardCast home page!

I'm working on the second episode, which will hopefully be up in a couple of weeks (or, just after Christmas!)

The main UK CardCast podcast isn't being neglected - I will be recording stuff for the next episode shortly...
Au Res.,
Paul

I'm listening to BTC #1 now.... well done Paul! I'm not really a fan of GPK or Wacky Packages but it's intersting to hear some history of these products.

Thanks Laura!

UK CardCast Episode 32 is now online - entitled "The Case of the Mysterious Drawn-upon Trading card", it features Harris talking about Memorabilia and Jason Johnson of Cult Stuff talking about current and future card set projects.

Episode 2 of Behind The Canvas, featuring Lak Lim, is next in the edit queue and will be online (hopefully) in the first week of January.
Au Res.,
Paul
