I'd just confirm that there are members here who are currently only reading the board and not posting. But this doesn't mean that they will never post again, just at the moment they are choosing not to.

Hi all. I've been lurking for some time, but recently started reading posts on a daily basis after being away from the site for quite a while. Harris sent out an email message a little while back asking those of us who hadn't signed in for some time to take another look at the board. I'm very impressed with how much it's improved since I last took a look. I made one post about my Charmed breakdown, but haven't had much to contribute beyond that for the moment. Hopefully I'll be a little more active soon.

My main interests are SciFi (Farscape, Stargate SG1, etc.), Buffy, and Angel. I collect some other things when it strikes me. The advertisement in NSU for Charmed Power of 3 is what convinced me to buy a box of Charmed. Nice set, money well spent.

I will be posting on the trading section once I get my extras and my want list a bit more organized. I'm a collector at heart and love my hobbie. (it's only one of my hobbies, but probably the one I enjoy the most!)

Later.

Rich

Hi Rich:

Welcome! Thanks for posting your insights. Its good to hear your perspective on this and also to hear from someone who looks more then posts.

I hope you decide to post more often.

Harris

Hi y`all!

I just registered after having read the card talk for several weeks only. Thought that was only fair. And this is a great forum!

Don`t have too much time for actually posting myself (due to my job, girl-friend, card-hunting - not always in this order) that I am usually happy enough when I find time to READ some of your info and talk!

Regards!

First welcome to the fun world of card collecting
it's allways great to contact other collectors and swap cards and stories. This site has been very helpfull to me in both endeavors.

I hope you do not find this to be too iquisitive into your private life but what inspired you to choose your name "mad panzer" the reason I have to ask is my real name is ponzer. My family came to this country from the aera once known as Bavaria.

As far as we can figure it out when my Great Great Grandfather came to this country His name was missspelled and it was too much of a hassle at the time to correct it.

If you choose not to answere this thats okay. welcome and have fun posting.

No problem.

"Panzer" is in the German language the word for "tank". As I am (next to card collecting) interested in tanks and tank warfare and am a little crazy about it I chose that username. Could not make up my mind for a username relating to cards.

I certainly hope your family name was not derived from "Panzer" !?!

I have no clue as to what the origin of your family name might have been. If some immigrations officer in the past took the original name and wrote it down as he phonetically heard it ... oh boy. Really a long way to go to trace your name`s origin.

Checked our local phone book, though. There is really no entry for "Ponzer" here. On the other hand, I do not live in Bavaria (that area is still known by that name ;-) and is in fact the Southern-most state of Germany :-), actually called a "free state" somewhat like Texas).

The family names I did find though were "Porzer" and "Polzer".

Sorry, I could not be of more help.

Regards,
Chris
