Did you guys notice that the membership roll for Card Talk is now 740 members strong! Seems like yesterday that we were just getting to 500!

Word is definately getting out about Card Talk.

I'm glad that NSU and Harris decided to start the message board! I know I have made many friends, made many trades, gotten some great promotional stuff that I would have not heard about otherwise and have learned a heck of a lot about cards and lots of other things too!

As for the number of people posting, like Dan said, it's been running around 24 or 25 percent. But that doesn't mean the others are not actively READING the board. I think some people sign up thinking they need to in order to read the forums, which as you know, is not necessary. Anyone can read our forums...you need to register to post, however (I am just stating the obvious for anyone new who might happen to come across this post). And I think others sign up with the notion of perhaps posting one day. And perhaps others just need quick info for one reason or another. All in all, there are probably many reasons why we only have 25 percent posting.

Another thing to consider is that some people post very infrequently so they might account as part of the 25 percent each month, even though they are not posting every month. I'm not sure if that make sense. I guess what I am trying to say is that part of the 25 percent rotates in and out. I don't have facts and figures to support any of this; just my thinking.

Having said all that, I agree that a membership purge is needed and I've said so before. But it's one of the things on my long range "to do" list. I want to be sure and do the purge right; not simply hack away a bunch of registrations. But I haven't found the time.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings.
