I have a little too much time on my hands. So why not pose a question? As a collector I've noticed the time between NSU issues is just too long.(This is not a complaint!) Perhaps I could fill the time by subscribing to another collector magazine. On the other hand, it sure would be great to receive NSU on a monthly basis.
Obviously, it would mean added expense. It may require downsizing the issue, or other modifications. For example: One month would emphasize new card sets with price guide updates and additions only. The next month would include a full price guide with limited new card set news.
The bottom line...is a monthly release feasible? Are there enough collectors interested? What do you think?....

xtime, I agree that the time between issues is long, but I don't see the hobby supporting a monthly NSU. Back in the mid 90's, when over a dozen sets were appearing every month, it would have been possible. There would have been enough new sets to write several articles each issue, as well as provide promos to be included in the magazine. There are other things to be considered, such as the shorter deadlines and personnel required to produce a magazine on a monthly basis. Ultimately, the decision is Harris's. If he decides to publish more issues, I will buy and read them.
As far as your idea of subscribing to another magazine, may I suggest The Wrapper? It is very different from NSU, more aimed at collectors of older cards, but the new stuff is in there too. There is a link to it in NSU's links section.

I'd love to see the *inbetween* time perhaps be used as special issues...like a Trek issue (duh) a SW issue, whatever else would support an issue...get all wacky once a year on one theme...

While I would love to see NSU published on a monthy basis, I'm realistic enough to know that it's probably not feasible. But I will say that those two months between issues surely do seem to crawl by!

But I'm easing my bi-monthly withdrawals with regular visits to the NSU website as well as the sites of the various card manufacturers. Reading some of the postings here on the NSU site can be VERY interesting....Lol It's nice to know that there are other "sanity challenged" people out there! :-)
