Hear Hear! Although it's nice sometimes to speculate on how much cards in one's collection are worth, it should NOT be the be all and end all of the hobby - the raison d'etre should be to collect cards that are, in the collectors opinion, interesting. If the collection proves to be a nest egg, fine, but this should not be the main reason for collecting!
If people stop treating trading cards as an investment, perhaps the prices would drop a little! Au Res., Paul

Since I've been a tad vocal in the board and the newsgroups, some might already know what I think, but what the heck. I love my cards. SOme I got a *deal* on, some I paid too much for....ALL have a story for those bored enough to sit through them all....I tend to recall how I acquired a card, not how much I paid for them. When I was first collecting, I reiled heavily on the guide as a checklist, but never the pricing..was there a card on there I didn't know about... Don't get me wrong, I don't have money to burn on overly priced cards and I'd love to know I wasn't spending stupid, but I use thiungs other then the fuide to make that decision. And if NSU tells me my 25th Anniv. set was dumped and has no value..well, maybe so :sniffle:, but I still remember my shy husband striking up a covnersation with a security guard who liked cards to see if he could get me the last darn common card I needed for that set..Worf! Those are the things I think about!
