I recently spoke with Harris about something I had kinda "dreamed" up.

I thought it would be cool if Card Talk could somehow participate in an ad or something. Some details to be worked out yet, but here is the
general gist of my idea:

The upcoming Oct/Nov ’05 issue of NSU will be its official 15-year anniversary issue. They have some things planned starting with a cover by John Czop featuring characters from 15 years of Non-Sport Update covers and a retrospective cover story by Roxanne Toser. Some of NSU’s
regular advertisers will be placing congratulatory ads in the magazine and I thought it would be cool if Card Talk members could also participate. So to that end, I will be organizing a color ad for the issue in which for a nominal fee, you can participate and show your support for NSU. The exact wording on the ad is yet to be worked out but it will most likely feature a screen shot of our community with the words “The Card Talk community congratulates Non-Sport Update on 15 great years.” Underneath will be the names and Card Talk User Names of all of you who wish to participate.

Now for the details part: For $6.00 you can have your name and Card Talk User Name listed in the ad. For $16.00, you can upgrade to a premium listing and have your name appear in gold (or silver; again, the exact details of how the ad will be put together are still in the planning stages at this point). The size of the add may also be determined by how many people we get to sign up. There is a minimum number for this to fly, but as of yet, I dont see a maximum. I wont be pocketing any money from this, all money collected will be spent on the ad. The deadline for payments is July 22, 2005.



All Card Talk members may participate. If you are interested I set up a special email address for the ad: CardTalkAd@cox.net - I will be joining this email address to my Paypal account shortly. But do not send money to the account without emailing the address first. I gotta keep track of these things. And lastly, sorry, but due to time constraints, I can only accept paypal, but I do have a Premiere account
so can accept paypal drawn on a CC in addition to balances and checking accounts. If anyone knows how to create a quick Paypal checkout email or something like that, let me know. It would probably easier to just email that to anyone who wants in.

Just an FYI, this is not limited to longtime mebers, or members with lots of posts. Someone who signed up today is eligible as well! People who have been members for years but only have 3 posts are eligible too! There are no restriction on who can be a part of this other than you have to be a Card Talk member! If I participate in the ad, does that mean that (as an NSU advertiser) I get veto power on certain Card Talk threads? <G>

Bill... only those threads which could affect whether you advertise again or not! LOL

A note to all, I probably should have included this earlier, but make sure you send me your full name (or whatever part of your name you would like to show in the ad) - and if you DO NOT want your full name posted, let me know that too! Pretty much, everyone will get 2 lines, one for your userID and one for your name.
