Hi All:

I posted here about an article that Zina Saunders had in Time Out New York magazine. Well, she's back with another project and I'm here to shill for her! OK, I probably shouldn't joke as this one is very serious.

Zina has created a site called Africa Closeup. Through her work with the Overlooked New York project (see above link and article on pg 6 of the Aug/Sep issue of NSU), Zina discovered the plight of (and made contact with) Faith, a 22-year old AIDS orphan living in Zimbabwe. She found out about her from Stacy, a bike messenger she profiled on the Overlooked New York web site. Coincidently, Stacy was also one of the featured illustrations in the NSU article. Zina has expanded her Overlooked New York brand of journalism to tackle a more serious subject in a story she calls "Living in the Time of the Plague".

The site is quite eye-opening and is fully illustrated with Zina's work. No, it's not a card series but it definitely deserves your attention. Take a look at the site here:

Thanks, Harris! I know the people I've met in the trading card community are some of the biggest hearted folks I know...so I think they'll be particularly interested in the story.

Many thanks!
Zina
