I think my favorite was the article " It's in The Genes." I thought it was fun looking through a childs eyes in this sport. It's great! Thanks to Meg Charendoff for sharing that great experience with her son Jonny!

I really liked the article "Cards That Sparkle"
When I started collecting. My better half was interested in the cards also but in recent years as the sets have moved away from art to more TV Movie sets she has lost interest. But I think she will be really excited by these.the sparkles tend to get her excited more now.I think I will try to find a box for a nice valentine gift. |

Now that I've got mine, I voted for Meg's article, mainly because it was different from the norm.

After initial scan of the magazine the best thing I saw was that Jolene Blalock (misspelled "Jolenne" but I actually like the misspelling better
As the article stated 15 sets that changed non-sports was, is and always will be subjective. I dont think I am gong to collect "Sparkley" cards. Have not really gotten into the 24 thing And although I probably needed a good scolding from Mom Toser it would be like gettin a "whoopin" and runnin out and telling your friends that it was your favorite.... SOOOO it is either Twilight Zone, Robots, Stip Cards or It's in the Genes. I did enjoy all of them and my sympathies to Mom Charendoff for having such a die hard collector on her hands at age six! I dont think the family business is going to help matters much.... But, my favorite was Don Norton's Between science and superstition. I loved the brief but fascinating history of Rod Serling and it was a great blend of history I could relate to (unlike strip cards) and a great card product. Thanks. ____________________ Checklist League 2007!!! |

thanks Mykdude.
I really enjoyed writing the Twilight Zone article, and i too found Serling's history very interesting. To volunteer for paratroopers back then was pretty daring. I also recounted my personal story about seeing Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, the episode with the gremlin. Over New Year's Day, the Sci-Fi channel ran a Twilight Zone marathon and my kids saw this episode for the first time, and it freaked them out as well. So - the Zone's still got it... |
