The last 10 odd posts have had nothing to do with the Variant issue. Razz

I am very upset I didn't order this when I had a chance. I swear I went into the NSU store and had it in my cart and was about to checkout when...I went back to the forums to chat...LOL

I finally got my copy on Friday.... However the postman folded the magazine to deliver it and bent the promo in Half Mad Red Face

Look like I'm going to have to buy another one Frown

I'm sure if you send it in NSU will replace it. I'm hoping mine arrives safely, for some reason the postman almost always folds it but so far the promos have been unscathed. I'm getting antsy waiting for my issue, I was hoping for it to be here Friday as it's a long weekend here and now the earliest it'll be here is Tuesday. Sigh.

Hard work has a future payoff. Laziness pays off now .

Hey Incarnadine,

Aren't those Canada Post carriers great for doing that?! I sometimes get magazines folded in half with an elastic around them holding all of my mail inside. It is so annoying. Generally, I only get magazines when I really want to keep them!

Anyway, I did take advantage of the opportunity to get the two copies, and I think that the package was too thick to fold. I have only opened one and the promo was perfect (very lovely, actually, thanks so much to NSU and Inkworks Smile )

Although I really only need one, I have also ordered two of the 24 variants too - there does seem to be safety in numbers.

Hi:

Bladecmc~ You might wish to contact me via e-mail about this. I'll see what I can do.

Incarnadine~ You too. That seems to be taking entirely too long. You might want to shoot me off an e-mail as well and be sure to include your particulars (address, etc.) so that I can look it up. I would have thought you would have that days (if not weeks) ago.

They're driving me nuts! Even when the packaging says "DO NOT FOLD" they fold them. And to think, the postal workers want to strike to get more money (among other things). Should we, the consumers, have a say in this? Should they really get paid more when their service is already lacking?? Argh.

Regards,

Paul Russell

And you just know that with the latest contract settlement, those stamp prices will be going up at the beginning of 2004! They'll be telling us we've had it easy over the past couple of years...(actually, looking at the rates in other countries, we do have some of the cheapest around)

Maybe the "DO NOT BEND" on the NSU envelopes just isn't big enough and will have to be like our cigarette pack warnings and take up at least a third of the envelope before the letter carriers start to pay attention.

No...wait...the warnings haven't stopped people from smoking, so it would just be a waste of ink Wink

As for the issue not arriving in Vancouver yet, Incarnadine, I got mine on Monday last here in Ottawa. Hopefully, Customs is just admiring your lovely foil promo before sending it on.

Sam

There is an auction on Yahoo regarding the NSU Buffy Magazine. It has quite a mark-up.

Well it seems like forever but as it's the variant issue I believe you mailed those on July 22(?) so it's only been 12 days and mail from the states usually takes from 1-2 weeks so it's getting close to the end of the range. I'll hold off until I get Tuesdays mail and see if it arrives. Funny thing is the last issue arrived in just 3 or 4 days.

For your supporting membership you would get a convention program autographed by all the guests. I found one the other day while going through some stuff, and found one with an autograph by Nicholas Brendon (Xander in Buffy, I think I've got the name right!) among others (including what looks like Kent McCord's from comparing it with the picture on the Rittenhouse website from Farscape 4, but as the program is from the '98 convenion - pre-Farscape - I don't know what he would be signing for).

From personal experience I'd just like to say that I've dealt with that person before Smile

And...
So that's where they all go! People buy multiple copies then re-sell them for high amounts (couldn't spell the other word!).
I'm thinking of buying a copy on Ebay in $AU, though Smile

I wasn't questioning the seller's reputation. I was just startled by the asking price. The magazine that started under $10 is now tripled under this auction.

If we hadn't had the inside scoop under NSU Card Talk, we wouldn't know that the price was astronomical. Smile

I know that. I was just making an observation that i've bought from them before, and found them to be great. What's wrong with that? Confused

Gee, next time I'll keep my opinions to myself, lest I induce an argument.

There seems to be a misunderstanding. There is no argument here. G'day. Smile

At long last my issue arrive. Nicely folded in half thanks to the canadian postal service and the envelope with the promo card had a nice crease, just to the side of the promo which was , thankfully, intact.
