Has This Topic every been brought up?

I wonder what set has sold the most cards? Rittenhouse only makes a certain amount of boxes/cases per set. What did Topps or other companies do?? Example: What card series was produced the most? Star Trek? Star Wars? Marvel or DC?

This could be a great thread and we know NSU is reading...

Idea #1
A year-long series of articles showing the creation of a card set, from conception to distribution. I'd love to see how a set is made, especially autograph cards, costume cards, and sketch cards. (This goes back to my "Birth of a Notion" idea!)

Idea #2
I'd enjoy reading an article about Jeff Allender. He's put a LOT of time and effort into creating & maintaining his checklist site. That site is invaluable to collectors!

Idea #3
In each issue, feature a random collector. There could be a short biography including location and what sort of cards that person collects.

How about a series on card sets that never got made. Like the Munsters, Get Smart, Jag, Red Dwarf (Rittenhouse), Muppet Show, Big Bad Bettle Borgs, The Mummy, and other sets that had promo cards or test sets done for but never went anywhere.

These ideas are GREAT! I am one who would love to see how the process of creating a set is done. Also, who is Jeff Allender? and what is this site? I"m pretty limited on resorce sites. Trying to get some together.

Thumb Up
1. In-depth reviews of card releases, with critical analysis and grading scale.
2. Guest writers offering opposing views on the same hobby related questions.
3. A series of articles about how a card series is produced.
4. Improvements to the price guide.
5. Contests and Drawings!!!

A rare sighting there of a lesser spotted Scott Thomas.
This shy timid creature only comes out to post about ten times a year so a real treat for those of us who were lucky enough to be here today. Big Grin

Personally I'd just like a few more articles in each issue. I seem to get through an issue, cover to cover, in about ½-¾ of an hour.

Or maybe I'm just a fast reader...

Nay -- Same here -- 1/2 hour or so....It's actually one of the few magazines that I bother to entirely read at all. I guess I'm hooked , huh???

Face it -- NSU is simply the best!

You do! I get so exited for the new magazine to arrive, I read it too fast and then I'm left waiting for another 2 months for the next one to get there! There are however good articles in this one, so It's a great re-read.

Jeff Allender's House of Checklists is a great site which provides complete checlists for just about every card set you can think of. If there is something you can't find and you could provide the facts, Jeff will add it and even give you credit for providing the info. It is constantly being updated and really is a great reference! Here is the url: Jeff Allender's Checklists

Oh and I would love to see an article about autographs. Maybe collectors that get trading cards autographed. I know I am not the only one out there that does this! And collectors that just go for the autograph cards, the value of autos, etc.
