Hi all.

Here is a list of things I would like to see added to NSU and why. They do not take up much room and can be added on half pages and parts of pages. I think this would get more people in the hobby and to know more about what they collect.

#1:Top 10 card artist-
Because: I would like to know the top 10 card artist in numbered order and what they Art work they did that made them part of the top 10.

#2:Best art work by the #1 artist-
Because: I would like to see all the best artist work that made that #1 artist so great

#3:Top 100 card sets of all time-
Because: I been collecting for a long time.
I would like to know how they got there and what is in the set.

#4; the top 50 most expensive cards ever-
Because: To look back in my collection to see how many of these cards I have

#5 Cards on the move section-
Because:To see what cards are going up in price and why.

#6 Sold on line section-
Because: to see what cards are going for on line at auctions . Why they are sought after and how much they went for.

#7: First time art cards by card artist-
Because: I would like to see what the artist first card was.

#8: Card spot light-
Because; To see what card series lasted so long and why.

#9:A 10 years ago section-
Because: NSU was out ten years and know what product was out then.

#10: Before they were stars card section-
Because : I would like to know what was their first art card was before they became know-en artist

#11: The most sought after cards for month -
Because: Almost every month changes. What are other collectors looking for.Example there was once a want list in NSU that I liked. This list made those cards highly sought after that issue came out also by other collectors.

#12: Treasure Hunt.
Because: There cards in bargain bins that some people do not know about and are sought after.
These are sleeper cards sets and boxes.

#13: Hot 10 cards of the month -
Because: People would like to know what is the most sought after card and why.Sometimes these cards do not change every month.

#14: Top selling cards of the month -
Because: People would to know what cards sold the most when they came out and what company made them.

#15: A classified section
Because: you might give people that subscribe to NSU a free 20 word classified add as a incentive to subscribe. Like a mail in form in every issue. Also you can charge non subscribers for adds and make money on how many words are in the add and also how long a person wants to run it.

I could type all day on how to make the hobby and NSU more interesting to read.I am a old time collector and like to read about the hobby and what is going on in it.I enjoy the card stories in NSU but I think the mag needs more input

TO: Harris, NSU and the readers of NSU:
Please do not take this the wrong way. I am only trying to help the hobby, collectors , company's , dealers and NSU.
I think adding these will sell more mags and add more knowledge to the hobby .
ALSO:
The company's know what the collector is looking for and is in to. The dealers will sell more cards sell. Also to let collectors know what cards are out there that they do not know about were and how to find them. Then also more history of the cards that people collect.

NSU has something like that on their Non-Sports Notes page. Wink It's usually above the Advertising rates setion and shows the 5 top pre-orderd non-sports sets and the company that produced them.

I think this is a good idea. I like knowing the history of the older card sets and the artists, especially since I am new to non-sport card collecting.

How about a section called "SEARCHING FOR" where you could list a single card and email or phone for a buck or 2?

I moved this to topic from suggestions & requests up here to NSU Magazine Discussion.

Sounds like some good suggestions, Card Master. I'll pass 'em around.

There was a "most expensive cards sold on ebay this month"-type list attached somewhere on the Rittenhouse website, usually associated with their Members Newsletter. I haven't gotten a newsletter from them lately, though. Joanna, Robert & Steve too busy?? Wavey

Happy Stargating!

I especially like these two suggestions and KenBenz's idea for a "wanted" section. Thumb Up

How about a "Card of the Week" section where NSU picks one card, shows a picture of it, and talks about its history (any background info, rarity, value, and anything else that's interesting). I think that'd be rather cool...

How about an Overseas Collectors section? Yes, I *know* that I go on about there being card collectors outside the US, but there are, and not just in the UK?

You could interview people via e-mail, do articles on the UK and overseas markets, showcase the other sets available... yes, I know this has been covered a little in previous issues, I'm just here wondering if it could be expanded...

Well, I think all of these ideas have some merit, especially those which show how the hobby/market for Non-Sports is changing.

Good for you, Card Master, a great topic with lots of potential!

yeah, most all good ideas from CardMaster and others... the NSU is pretty informative, but stats wise is kinda poor Shake Head Maybe pump it with research and it'll be in the professional ranks as Beckett for sports cards and Wizard for comics (Not that NSU has much competition I believe- Tuff Stuff does some entertainment, but they don't know ****- booking a Buffy S1 auto for $50... wth!?! I hope I find a guy with these who follows Tuff Stuff and not NSU or eBay! [Although I did get those 4 Buffys including A8 for a song...])
