Captain Zantor was an alien in an episode of Space:1999 ("Earthbound").

Thanks, that was an easier one too. The ones i spend a lot of time on look overworked and suck for the most part. Like the Peri sketch i have up at the moment. In the end, only a 50% likeness,

I'll be updating tomorrow since i am taking the 4th off. More Kolchak, LOTR, Dr. Who cards from
"The Daemons" and a pretty nice Master card on grey stock that turned out pretty nice.

Ending tomorrow 7/4:

I sort of snuck this one in on Sunday instead of Wednesday because i did not get it finished
in time.

Anyway, on to this weeks stuff. A few more LOTR. Some of the scans are very dark. The ones I used for my auctions are a little better.

For some reason, it turned out to be "elf and demon week"

As usual these will begin 7/4/07 at 7.15 pm:

Love the Delgado Master card.

What I like about your cards, Evan, is that you chose a theme (or Dr Who episode) and do some great sketches around it.

Fantastic work. Cool

P.S. Have a great 4th July.

Thanks, this weeks its Terror of the Zygons, more LOTR and an Indiana Jomes in desert gear. Please bid liberally, as cards on gray stock take a LONG time to complete. These are raw scans too, corrected scans will be on my auctions. The real ones look much better. I thought Arwen was a little weak, but Galadriel and the cave troll turned out nice.

As usual these start at 7.15 pm Pacific time!

Ok, thanks guys, this week, some more Doctor Who from "Frontier in Space", and some more LOTR. Next week i will probably start a "Dark Shadows" set. Personally i think Pertwee turned out pretty nice.

I agree. The Pertwee card is excellent. You did a great job of capturing his expression. I also really liked the Zygon and the tree Ent.

I have to agree with the comments about the Pertwee sketch, it is truly great. Your skill shines through in every sketch, and I would be so bold as to say that this is your best collective work.

Fantastic stuff! Thumb Up

Thanks. I'm getting more accustomed to working on grey stock, which is better for moodier pieces. I also got a grey fineliner which will help. The highlights really shine, since i am using transparent mediums for greys and blacks and opaque for highlights it's more like working in oil. Plus i am spending a sick amount of time on some of these cards. As always, they look a lot better in person.

The extra effort you're putting in is showing, and now that I have some of your cards I can now see how much better they look in person. The Sontaran I won has to be one of my favourite ever cards. Thanks Evan.

I check out the sketch card area ever so often and I'm continually impressed by the amount of talent that I see.

I know alot of members are partial to the Dr. Who cards but I really love the Ent. Got to take this seriously and try to get it for my hubby. He'll love it!

Evan, you do amazing work Smile

Thanks! I tried to do the ent in a more John R. Niell style rather than just copying something from the movie. With creatures you have more leeway than with people as far as likenesses go, as you can see it is quite different from the rest of the LOTR cards.

I love that you didn't do a version of a LOTR Ent sketch and instead, took on a different style. That's what drew me to the card in the first place.

My hubby and I admire LOTR BUT we have been fans of all things 'peculiar' for much longer. That's why I know he'd love the Ent card.

It looks more original.. and if I'm lucky enough to win it - I know he's going to love it.

Wolfie, you are going to get me in trouble yet. Wink

I only meant that we are interested in Ents, dragons and such - that's all.

Nothing else implied but feel free to use your imagination Big Grin lol
