Only a few days, getting excited!!!!
See you all then.
Hey! Anyone who did not speak up on going to card talk that plans on it, can you please please chime in for a head count.
I believe the hotel would like to know how much food to carry before we get there?
We don't want to let anyone go hungry, you know.
So far I only count around 15 people? I hope there is more of you to come.
This is planned on being a nice card talk session, trade session, and complementary breakfast for card talkers, non card talkers are welcome, but at 15.00 per person to help cover the costs.
Remember, I am going to have a special raffle for those in attendance for this one.
Thanks and hope to see you all there. We will have room, sort of like the Verizon commercial- the network...
Take care,
Paul

Last call for trades or special requests.

Working on X-Time's list this evening, then it's time to load up.

So drop me a line if there is something unusual or specific you might be looking for.

Question for other dealers...

How do you package your sets? I usually have them in either plastic or cardboard set boxes. I have; however, seen sets that appear to be shrink wrapped and was wondering if it is being done on a machine or a by hand trick.

some dealer shrink wrap them or use the self sealing plastic wrap(Don't do this it leave a sticky coating on the cards). Most take a comic Book bag and split it in half. Then fold and tape like a Chistmas Present. The problem with the Plastic Method is that cards can be damaged if someone put something heavy on the sets or if the cards are knocked off the table.

I both wrap in plastic and then use Plastic cases. That way people can't mess with the sets until they are purchased and the sets are protected from denting. It also allows people to have a case to store the cards in.

I shrink wrap mine.

I have a sealing machine and heat gun to shrink them.

I found that plastic boxes were taking up too much room when I started taking lots of sets to shows. Plus they get scratched up and foggy over time.

Never had a problem with someone setting something on a set and damaging it, but if they drop a set it's toast.

While I'm not a dealer, I have accumulated hundreds of extra sets and use the plastic snap-boxes to store them. This way they stack easily and are protected in my basement or during shipping.

Thanks for the additional input Ed and Mike. I should have thought about it earlier and I could have done some shrink wraping, but I will have to settle for plastic and cardboard set boxes for now.

Here are a few things that I can use if someone can bring them...

Kiss 360 Base 3, 37, 43, 61, 65, 76 Transformation 1

Kiss Ikons 35 Years Base 27

I just opened some Ink Vault, and did pretty well, but wound up with boxes for sets I don't collect:

1 Box of Each
Lost Season 2
Lost Season 3
Jericho Season 1
Seeker

I can bring these to trade if anyone is interested (and if I don't trade them online first), but let me know if your interested for trading for any of these -- I won't bring them otherwise.

Thanks!

Jon

Packing the car now, will leave in an hour or so.
I started my great weekend by stopping by Target and picked up the last Fairfield Auto pack. Got Micheal McKean as Atticus Liddell from Alias.
The Americana packs yeilded all commons, but the popstarz had a Gold card, (a regular card with gold ink border), it was the same one I already had. Then I pulled a Rosario Dawson materials card, which, according to the NSU priceguide, is the most valuable.

So, looking forward to seeing you all at the show, have a safe drive.
