Just got back a bit ago. . .

It has been a long time since I've been excited to talk to other folks about a show, and I'm not sure what it was about this show -- but so far it has been a great show for me.

I've managed to find a deals at every dealer I've purchased from Dave Moulder, Derek Woywood, SciFi Cards, Looky Here, K & J were still setting up when I walked by so I didn't check out there selection, and another dealer who mostly had gaming cards had a respectable selection of new wax. There seemed to be a lot of dealers selling cards at great prices.

Only had a few minutes for the artists alley, but got a pair of great sketches from RAM, and chatted with Jim Kyle for a bit.

After all that -- ohh and the rest of the dealers -- I was exhausted -- and out of cash (which is rare for me, a lot of shows I can't seem to find things to spend money on -- not a problem here!) so I headed out. Didn't even stop in the exhibitors area so I'll do that tomorrow.

Dave Moulder also hooked me up with a ticket to a show in addition to having a great selection of stuff -- so that was awesome too. . .

I also ran into Paul who gave me a flier for his next show, and saw an announcement that next years' WW Chicago will be early August -- I prefer it now, but what can you do. . .

Great show. . . looking forward to tomorrow. . .

Jon

Observations from WW Chicago Day Two. . .

Not so much a report, just a series of observations and 'things' about the show.

Today was more about finding a few very nice items, and I noticed that each time I walked the floor I found something different. Many of those treasures I found would have been sold at Comic Con or another show before I would have had the chance to buy them if this show were in August.

Thing that WW Chicago does better than San Diego Comic Con: Parking.

The crowd seemed much busier this year, most of the dealers I talked to (actually all but one) were very happy with their preview night sales. I hope the rest of the weekend follows that trend. Personally I think that has to do with this show being so far away from SD -- too bad they are moving it back next year.

Most annoying thing: Independent Comic Folks hard selling their comics.

Guess that's about it for now . . . hope everyone enjoys the show over the rest of the weekend!

Jon

I had a nice time. Ran into Mike as well as Paul. Ed and his lovely daughter at Sci-fi cards. Kevin at K & J cards who tried to get me to buy more LOST autographed costume cards.....LOL The lovely people at Looky Here are always great to see. Grant Gould did a very nice sketch of the LOST Episode, the Constant for me. I also purchased some sketches from Rob Hassan. His Dark Knight was amazing. Me and my posse did our good deed at the con. There was a little boy lost in artist alley. We took him to security and waited with him until his Uncle came. Poor little kid was scared to death. Once we got him over to security where ther police were, they took care of him. His uncle came about 15 minutes after they announced him name over the PA. The poor man was ghost white from worry. But they thanked us up and down for bringing him to security. I felt so much better knowing he was ok.......After that big adventure I went home to relax. Hope everyone had a great time. It was great to see everyone.....

I went on Friday, and I want to say a huge thanks to Dave Moulder for the complimentary passes for me and my friends.

We only stayed a few hours -- there really isn't that much to do there -- but I was able to get a sketch of Hermione Granger from Katie Cook and an autograph from TNA Wrestling's Gail Kim (and Gail must have been cold, because she wasn't wearing very much at all). I spent a little bit talking to Ed from Sci-Fi Cards, and I won a copy of the new Futurama movie on DVD from the prize wheel at the Futurama booth. Overall, a good time.
