Just got back from a lovely day out at this show.
We set off at 7am and arrived at the show at 8.45.
Had breakfast in Macdonalds and then set about it.

Some really nice guests there this time. I saw Linda Blair, Nancy Allen, Tawny Cypress and they all seemed really happy and were posing for photos with anyone who asked. Clap
For us UK types there was June Whitfield & Leslie Phillips.

Also saw James Marsters who not only was charging more than anyone else but was refusing to have his photo taken with anyone. Twak

The star wars UK Garrison were there in all the costumes which is allways nice to see and the weather was just fantastic, sunny and warm.

Had a chat with a lot of the dealers who all seemed to be doing well and having a good day, which is nice.

Missed Boldlygone by minutes at Paul & Carols stall in the afternoon. Catch you next time. Wavey

As usual with UK shows there were no manufacturers present, no promo giveaways or anything of this sort but we had a nice time anyway.

The guy who came to the show with me seemed to buy half the contents of the hall including a very authentic looking latex Myers Halloween mask which he wore all the way home in the car provoking some very nervous looks from passing drivers on the motorway. Big Grin

Anyway back home safe and looking forward to the next show which is at the NEC tommorrow.

No rest for the wicked. Wave

A Tireing yet anjoyable day was had by Myself and Julie. It was a struggle getting around all the stalls, what with Julie always pushing me on to see the next Dr Who item. I couldn't peruse all the card binders that I would have like to.

I did see Richard at the card vault stand to pick up 2 boxes of DC legacy, a box of Breygents movie posters and a Simpsons Binder. I also picked up this beauty that i have been searching for for years:

discovered there is a variant of this out there where Ms Munro has signed it More or Most Love

Saw Paul & carol and Paul Hart. Couldn't chat for long though. Julie calling Roll Eyes

Julie did find a retail bos of Shrek 2, a base set of High School Musical, some posters (Dr Who & HSM), a Doctor who watch and toothbrush.

It seems I just missed Wolfie again Roll Eyes

Didn't get any autographs today, Julie was disapointed as she didn't recognise any of the celebritys. She wanted to see John Barrowman but sadly he is only there tomorrow. she got VERY excited when she saw his picture on the posters.

Back from Collectormania today - boy, was it busy! Met up with Paul and the Lovely Carol, the ubiquitous Paul Hart, Righard from CardVAult, Anthony from CardCollectors, etc.
Got there at about 8.40 and the queue outside (the doors didn't open until 9.30) was LONG - according to some reports, people had been queueing outside ince 3am. And all for John Barroman!
I wasn't able to get clear (photographic) shots of any of the gursts - Eve Myles and John Barrowman were at the end of a long queueing corridor, partly shielded by carefully positiond partition walls, and partly by enthusiastic crowds of Torchwood/Doctor Who fans! (I did miss a photo opportunity when Eve Myles passed me to get into the signing area - I didn't realise it was her until she turned a corder and I recognised her, too late to dig out my ancient camera!)

Wandered around and actually bought a few things (though, as I forgot to bring my PDA with the wants checklist, I was working entirely from memory - not always a good thing given the state of my memory!)
Au Res.,
Paul

Over on the John Barrowman Yahoo! group it was reported that autos from Barrowman were limited to 1500 by ticket and that all of these had gone within 1/2 hour of opening

I have just got home from the show with Quaint1 so i wont repeat all the people we met, but have to say again it was really busy.
I managed to get to see Eve Myles and i must say she is lovely. She was taking lots of time to talk to everyone and was totally amazed by the huge number of people that had turned up to get auto's.

I purchased two boxes of Women of Marvel and a Donruss Yunjin Kim auto.

I just wanted to post to say a huge public thanks to both CSI Dave and Quaint 1 for helping me out with the Eve Myles autograph. I truly appreciate all of the effort that you both went to. Thumb Up
