Mike, I'm needing some of the clear cards. Didn't bring my extras but I think I know what I have. So if you see this, bring your extra clears.

Excellent show! A good time was had by myself and the kids. I do believe that every one of us spent all the money we had set aside for the show. Filled some Game of Thrones autos and parallels, traded with Ed and xtime, and as usual Iggy entertained (he also had some cool Space sketch cards). Also bought some Spartacus autos and my final Walking Dead Season 1 chase I needed and other stuff off my want list. I meant to take some pictures but totally forgot. Frown

Had a great time yesterday at the show. I met a lot of people working at the door. The floor was very active. Charles Simpson did a great Hulk sketch for me and Dan Gorman did a Sherlock Homes sketch that was terrific. I won't be able to make it today.

Ed - Thanks for everything and I am glad I could help out.

Well, had a good day at the show - brought my wife for the first time and we manned the front desk, handing out promos.
First off - promos
You all know about the Rittenhouse P4 Game of Thrones, the 5Finity Zombies vs. Cheerleaders and Marty and Boos Island Dreams promos. Then there were the 5 E-Mail Epic promos, these were distributed in smaller numbers, and only 2 of the 5 were in each packet.
Then there were the show promos - Scifi Cards P23, and artists Dan Gorman and Charles Simpson P5 and P6. Also, there was the Nevermore Alice 2 from the last show.
The big surprise was Breygent's American Horror Story, the first promos for this set, unnumbered with Chicago Collectors Expo logo. These are reflective foil and beautiful cards. They arrived this morning straight from the printer, so Friday attendees did not recieve them. So - 14 promos all in all, although it would have been very hard to find all 5 EMail promos.

I had a great time at show. Attendence was not the best, but Ed was happy because the people that were there were buying (I sure did).

Many Card Talkers both days, LovesMeSomeCards, Kennywood, Stevetrek,Venom5Liter, Greg Geerts, Webjon, hope I'm not forgeting anyone - Hippiejewel, you were missed, hope you feel better soon.
Ed and Kevin had tons of stuff on their tables, and if you wanted something, they most likely had it, at reasonable prices. I balked at picking up an Arya auto from Game of Thrones, then when I finally went back to get it - it was gone - DOH! I also had my eye on a Melissa Joan Hart Sabrina The Teenaged Witch auto, so I finally picked it up - c'mon, who doesn't love Melissa!

Lots of bargains, Iggy, Xtime and Brian all had some nice stuffon their tables. Picked up many items off my want list, got a couple of nice autos, artist Charles Simpson did a nice James Bond sketch for me.

Picked up sets of Bettie Page box 2, Walking Dead 2,and Women at War. Just about finished my Bond 50th inserts, and got 2 sweet Benchwarmer Kiss cards.
This is always a good show, and I recommend it to anyone who collects cards, there were also some nice figures, comics and movie posters there.

I dropped in for a bit too, it was great to see everyone, and I picked up a few things. . . seems like there isn't a ton I'm collecting right now, but I did manage to find some stuff, of course!

The promos were fantastic, as was the selection of cards at the show.

Looking forward to the November edition! Hopefully I'll have more time then to chill, chat and perhaps trade!

Jon

Rats I missed the American Horror Promo. That get a double frowny face. That is one of the show I am most looking forward to beside Grimm and Game of Thrones 2.

I heard that American Horror promos were only given out on Saturday at the door but not in the entry packs.

That's true Bill. The American Horror cards arrived today, and entry packets had already been made up.
Since my wife and I took turns manning the table we got a box full of the two promos and gave them out individually, since people already in the show hadn;t received them.
Some of the cards had dinged corners, due to the way they were shipped, so we tried to pick out good cards for everyone.

The good thing, since only a few of these made it out, Ed plans to put them in the packets for Oct show.

I had a great time thanks to our wonderful Card Talkers (and others) who made it out to the show. Attendence was kind of light, probably due to the lovely weather that we had the previous couple of days, but the ones who were there were ready to shop. I missed seeing some of the gals (Anjee and Jewel) and for the record...there was no pizza Twak

People keep telling me that I HAVE to do Allentown as I would do will with my set-up. For now, I will likely stick to the locals shows but you never know...

PRELIM Report:

Finally back, safe but not yet sound. Razz
Perhaps another day of rehab will help.

Anyway, as others have noted this show was definitely a WORST OF TIMES experience for me. A four hour traffic jam can really mess up the best of plans. Mad

However, it also had some BEST OF TIMES. Angel
Special thanks to Don Norton, for his extra-mile help. Thanks also to Carl, Brian and Iggy for being good neighbors.
Thanks to Mac13 and Lovemesomecards for some great trades (also thanks to her son, Ian, for all his help setting up).
While weather had an impact on attendance, still I saw several Cardtalkers and a good number of younger collectors.
The show had a wide selection and a good mix of modern and vintage cards, entertainment mem, action figures and more.
There were at least three bargain bins filled with chase cards. If you needed to fill gaps in your collection this was the show, and I'm certain the same will be true in October.

Thanks to Ed & Kevin for arranging the show and the great lineup of promos. Thumb Up

Just starting to unbox everything. Will update.

Ah thanks Iggy......I missed you all as well. But be glad I wasn't there. It turns out I have the influenza "B" virus. I'm off work for the rest of the week and ordered to stay in bed and hydrated. I would've felt awful if I gave it to anyone. So as much as I miss you all(Yes you as well Bill)I'm glad nobody got sick.....Great to hear all your stories....
