Batman has made the reservations, I will be coming solo this year, July 13 to 17th. Who else is planning on attending? It's never to early to start planning, and the Hotels will fill up quickly after the holidays. I'm looking forward to the ice cream already, Harris and Paul!

And no matter which day Harris plans his CT gathering, I will be there as I'm going for Wed,Thurs,Fri,Sat and Sun! Last year he planned for a day I wasn't there! Smile

You're not getting rid of me this year Harris!!! lol

I've booked my room!!!! And so have 4 of my friends.

I still have to get my tickets though and airfare, but it's too early for the airfare.

Sadly I don't think I'll have much spending money after paying for airfare, tickets, hotel
and food. I try to use my part time job paychecks instead of any of "our"(my hubbys paychecks Smile) to fund this trip. I'll have fun with all my friends there regardless.

I'll be there. I've already got a suite at Staybridge suites. For 90 bucks a night. It's on the shuttle line as well. Right now it's save, save, save...LOL

It should be nice and crowded due to the fact that the Padres will be in town the 14th - 17th of July. The night games are the 14th, 15, and 16th. the 17th is an afternoon game. So traffic should be really nice....LOL

My fiancee and I are going to be going again this year. This time we want to add the Preview tonight to our travels though. I don't get to see so much since I play in trading card game tournaments for VS and Decipher games. You can't get enough of SDCC...are there any trading card panels??? Thanks,

Chris

I don't know about card panels. All I can tell you is that I spent most of my time at the Inkworks booth. They had so many wonderful guests lined up there for autographs. It was so worth it.

She's right you know - that way you can start setting aside the pennies for the trip now so when the time comes, you're all set Smile

I like to start my 'vacation' fund immediately after I've spent my 'Christmas' fund.

Course, I'm still spending Christmas money Smile

Hi batmancity:

You might also try Travel Planners, the "official" accomodations people for Comic Con. It looks like they have not really gotten going yet for this year's show but perhaps they will soon.

Here is a link to their website (the same as the one on the Comic Con site):

Travel Planners

Good luck and hope to see you at the show!

Harris

FrownLooks like I won't be able to make it in 2005. I was hoping the dates would have been similar to this year so I could kill two birds with one stone, but alas they aren't. Looks like I will have to settle on an East coast show.

Let's put it this way. I was there 5 days last year. I'm sure I didn't even see everything at the Con. You walk into one entrance, you can't see the wall on the other side. It's that huge!!!! Bring very comfortable shoes.

Also the Gaslamp district is fun as is the San Diego Zoo. Plus the Zoo is open late in the summer. Plus the San Diego Padres will be in town. I'm sure a few of us will be going to a baseball game on one of the nights.

Hi Batmancity:

Like hippiejewel says, it's huge!

It depends what your interests are. If you are just interested in cards, you would be able to do the show quicker then most. I can't tell you how many card dealers there are (maybe someone else here could) but there are not all that many. Not as many as exhibit at Memorabilia.

If you also collect comics, action figures, or anything else in the pop culture collectible categories, then you better plan on being at the show quite some time!!

And if you are interest in going to the seminars, or other activities, then forget about it! You'll be there all five days for sure.

Also, there are many other things to do around San Diego...many that you can get to on foot or by subway (the Convention Center is directly on the subway line...well, not right on it Roll Eyes). Jewel mentioned a couple of things. You can also go to Seaport Village and Horton Plaza for shopping, take a ferry ride to Coronado "island" and the Hotel Del, or stop by Ghirardelli's Ice Cream and watch Paul Hart eat ice cream. He's there nightly between 6 and 7. Big Grin

Good luck with your planning.
