Great pics. . . but why was the show a 3 of 10? I've been thinking about attending DragonCon, but it's quite the trek from Chicago -- anyone know how it compares to other shows?

I went a few years ago and had a good time BUT... I thought it was way too crowded in the dealer areas and difficult to find things. At the time I think Dragon*Con had just expanded to 3 hotels with programming on multiple floors of each hotel. Very hard to figure out what hotel/floor things were on and how to get there. Laura |

(#1) crowded!
(#2) not really a comic con - more a Sci Fi con (#3) almost no card dealers - only 2 I saw (#4) But it would be a 10 out of 10 con for costume designers, etc. It all depends WHY you are there. They try to be everything to everyone, but can't be. Comic people = 3/10, costume people 10/10, autograph collectors = 9/10, Magic & Gaming people = 7/10, etc etc By the way - if you get a hotel room in the host hotel & like to drink, people had a BLAST = 9/10. ____________________ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - sketchcards.org << Scans of my sketch cards photobucket << Scans of my sports cards ** my WANT list ... |

I like card dealers-sometimes you find a bargain or something rare to you.
Only 2? no. ____________________ You're not afraid of the dark are you? |

Did membership to the con, include a free autograph by a guest of your own item? Or does it depend on the guest if they charge or not?

The guests charge for their autographs. Fees vary by guest. Laura |

HA!In pic #1, those arent STARS officers, those are Umbrella tactical teams.
I played WAY too much Resident Evil for my own good. |

Thanks a lot for this, gives me a pretty good idea of what to expect from this show. . . Did anyone notice how the selection of original art, or artists were? Thanks, Jon ____________________ Webjon.com is back -- blogified! And now featuring trade lists! |

DragonCon still ranks as my favorite show. I think you have to like Chaos a bit though. Always crowded, anyways something weird going on, the costumes are incredible. One minute you are standing by a guy in a 8 foot talk demon ent costume the next minute you will be surround by superheroes! Granted that it never has had a strong Nonsport card present but always a lot of fun!

I think, based on the name on the front, that this is Joseph Michael Linsner of Dawn fame. |

SWAG -
In my sketchbook I was creating a jam piece. Got Cully at Atlanta Comics Expo/ Got Brian Stelfreeze at Heroes Con. Added the ADAM HUGHES at DragonCon - cool! Also picked up the most righthand piece of this set: CARD scans - Special thanks to Cat for the deal on these: Small donation to HERO initiative yielded this: ____________________ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - sketchcards.org << Scans of my sketch cards photobucket << Scans of my sports cards ** my WANT list ... |
