Wee Bee Cards

ALL in all, a 3 out of 10 experience.

There were (2) boxes of Star Wars 30 for $90 each, and Sarah W had a box by the pack. Wee Bee Cards had a Star Wars 30 by COWAN for $250. A pretty good deal, me things. Another dealer had (4) Avengers sketch cards for $125-175. EWWW. I'll show my swag later - Cat & Adam Hughes were nice to me!

Great pics. . . but why was the show a 3 of 10? I've been thinking about attending DragonCon, but it's quite the trek from Chicago -- anyone know how it compares to other shows?

I went a few years ago and had a good time BUT... I thought it was way too crowded in the dealer areas and difficult to find things. At the time I think Dragon*Con had just expanded to 3 hotels with programming on multiple floors of each hotel. Very hard to figure out what hotel/floor things were on and how to get there.

(#1) crowded!

(#2) not really a comic con - more a Sci Fi con

(#3) almost no card dealers - only 2 I saw

(#4) But it would be a 10 out of 10 con for costume designers, etc. It all depends WHY you are there. They try to be everything to everyone, but can't be. Comic people = 3/10, costume people 10/10, autograph collectors = 9/10, Magic & Gaming people = 7/10, etc etc

By the way - if you get a hotel room in the host hotel & like to drink, people had a BLAST = 9/10.

Did membership to the con, include a free autograph by a guest of your own item? Or does it depend on the guest if they charge or not?

Great pictures.

Great pictures.

The guests charge for their autographs. Fees vary by guest.

Thanks a lot for this, gives me a pretty good idea of what to expect from this show. . .

Did anyone notice how the selection of original art, or artists were?

Thanks,

Jon

DragonCon still ranks as my favorite show. I think you have to like Chaos a bit though. Always crowded, anyways something weird going on, the costumes are incredible. One minute you are standing by a guy in a 8 foot talk demon ent costume the next minute you will be surround by superheroes! Granted that it never has had a strong Nonsport card present but always a lot of fun!

I think, based on the name on the front, that this is Joseph Michael Linsner of Dawn fame.

Got Brian Stelfreeze at Heroes Con.
Added the ADAM HUGHES at DragonCon - cool!

Also picked up the most righthand piece of this set:

Special thanks to Cat for the deal on these:

Small donation to HERO initiative yielded this:
