Hello:

Who's coming to the Big Apple Con Nov. 14 - 16? I've been asked to moderate a panel on sketch cards called "Sketch Cards: The Future of Comic Art Collecting." On the panel will be Brian Kong, Jim Kyle, and NAR. This will be a question and answer session, so anyone there should come armed with questions for these three immensely talented artists. What's even cooler is that Brian, Jim, and NAR are jointly creating a sketch card and that card will be given away through the panel.

So for any of you in the New York, New Jersey, and surrounding areas, if you get a chance to attend Big Apple Con, please stop by. The panel will be held on Sunday, November 16 at 3:30 PM.

I wish I'd been a bit more clairvoyant. I bought advance tickets long ago when I found out Kate Mulgrew was going to be there on Friday only. Now...well, I wish I had an extra $20 lying around to buy a Sunday ticket....

Just wanted to say thanks to Harris for moderating this and I can't wait until Sunday! The three way card is gonna knock your socks off!

Hey all,just wanted to thank everyone who attended the panel..Harris you did an outstanding job moderating the panel.

Is there a video out there of the panel?

I don't think there is any video, but I believe that Harris did attempt to record the audio. Harris does have pictures, I'm sure of that. The panel was well done, there were quite a few questions that all three artists answered, and there was a nice hand out giving some background information on the panel and the artists. There was about 15-20 people in attendance. It was nice to see the hobby get some exposure. I wil try and scan a copy of the hand-out.

Here's a photo of the jam sketch card. Its probably not the best photo and really small, but the best I could do on short notice. I have pictures of the actual panel (thanks Alan!) but those will have to wait until I get home next week. And I'll can post a better picture of the sketch card when I return but this should wet your appetite.



Oh, and if you can post that handout scan, Batman, please do so.

Oh, and if I can get some audio up, I will. I haven't actually checked my recording yet but I assume it came out alright. Again, this will have to wait just a bit since I don't have all my editing tools here in the U.K.

Hey ...here are some pics that I took of the JAM card and the stages:
I drew the Black Cat first, and handed it off to Jim :

Jim did the Spidey, but because we were busy during the show, neither one of us took a pic, so I photoshoped the Spidey in so everyone could get an idea, Jim did a the webbing from Spidey as well :

Nar did the Venom & added the B/G:

Then I added my highlights on BC and colored the B/G...Nar also added the color to Venom's tongue:

I had a great time on the panel, and I was very pleased with the results of the card.
