No room at the Inn Just my luck that I was at work (outside internet forbidden) when the con site opened up. I've just got in and the world and his wife have booked up. I need a room within walking distance to keep dropping off my swag. I don't drive and shuttles would take too long. Unless a miracle happens, my second visit will be next year

Don't give up, Graham, Comic Con won't be as much fun if you are not in attendance!! Thumb Up

Thanks for the help/suggestions/sympathy. At the moment, I'm still hopeful but if push comes to shove, I'll commute from further out. Just didn't want to swap "cash for goodies" for "cash for cabs" Frown

Dont give up yet Graham most places seem to release rooms as time goes by so they might release more rooms as time goes on. For this year we could only get 2 nights at the hyatt but had got our other nights booked somewhere else but more rooms came available at the hyatt a couple of weeks ago and we booked them instead.
Still a long way off but major excitement is growing. I will be there from wednesday till saturday afternoon before driving over to vegas.

You need to be inline at least 2 hours before opening time. Saturday is the most crowded of all days and was the first to sell out last year. If you get into town Friday night you should be able to get your tickets before hand. They do line-up first inside on a carpeted floor making the wait bearable.

I had a friend a couple of years ago spent 2 hours in the ticket line alone and missed the opening. The lines can be literally a mile long.

After going for the last 5 years, I think Sheri and I are going to pass on this year's Con. Anyone who is willing to put together a package of promos for me (as I have done for many over the last few years) please shoot me an email. Wave

For the first time in ages, I'll be missing this year's SDCC also. If anyone can hook me up with promo cards, that would be awesome, but perhaps more importantly, if anyone can help me get whatever exclusive items Tonner Direct (Tonner Doll Co.) has for the show, I'll love you forever and ever! Smile

You might want to check the SDCC website. There will not be any on-site badge sales this year. If you plan to go to the show at all, whether for 1 day or the whole thing, you have to register in advance. That should help with the ridiculous lines. If you get your badge in advance of the day you're attending, you should be able to skip the lines altogether. Just wait until the doors open for the day, then the hordes of people will rush in, but if you wait about 2 minutes, you'll be able to just stroll right in.

Anyone skipping SDCC this year because of the economy or high gas prices?

Yes, on Friday, the 25th, as listed in the upcoming show section of the current NSU. I believe it will be at Buster's again, the same as last year, which had plenty of room and was a nice place. Pancakes! Thumb Up

Yes, that is correct...There will be a breakfast Friday morning at Buster's Beach House and Longboard Bar (807 W. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA). This is the same location as last year. This really worked out well last year and I'm happy we've got this place again. It will on Friday morning. I hope to post details soon (time, cost, etc.) and hope that anyone coming to Comic-Con will set aside Friday morning for this.

Thanks.
