The show was so much fun as usual. I tend to blend into the background and enjoy all the commotion caused by TWS and Tony of Triangle. Wayne and his Tony or, is it Tony and his Wayne, are also fun to be around. Batman, Mike, Dave M., Ed, and Laura, it is always nice to see all of you.
I am always tongued-tied around my favorite artist, Sean but he is always patient with me.
Jim and Brian are great.
The enjoyed talking with Denise and Robert of Rittenhouse as they speculated about the future LOST and Stargate projects.
Harris, thanks as always for making me feel welcome whenever I see you. You and your gang, er, professionals are fun to talk with.
This is probably the longest post I have ever typed, so with apologies to whomever I missed, Good night.

This is probaby a long shot, but I'll try anyway. I seem to have misplaced the two NAR! lithographs that we got at Saturday night's dinner. They are of Wolverine and Phoenix. Both are autographed by NAR! with one actually being autographed twice. If anyone happened to have found them, would you please let me know?

Thanks! Wavey

This was the most fun show that Philly has seen yet. I enjoyed myself more than I should have.. Trust me, I enjoyed myself a little too much at the bar at the airport...I left Atlanta just as 2 tornados touched down near my house so I was glad to be at the Philly Show..Oh well back to the show..It was an impressive turn out with many attendees and guests. I got to sit across the aisle from Rich Molinelli and Kevin Graham..I know they loved looking at my face all weekend-not. Kevin Graham always has the most awesome Promo/Business Cards and this time was no different. He had some with his Star Wars Artwork on nice thick cards 7mm with his photo and a place to get his autograph on the back. I now proudly own a set of these beauties that are autographed too. I also was able to sneak away from my booth a few times to talk with Sean Pence, Brian Kong and Jim Kyle.. It's always a pleasure having time to talk and kid around with them. I managed to trade for a Sweeeeeeeet Darth Maul Sketch from Sean Pence which now resides in my personal collection. That gives me a total of 6 cards..WOW! Seeing all of the Card Talkers was just great and I'll try and mention those that I can remember even after I killed a few million brain cells with the free drinks at the airport. I talked to and saw of course my bud Jane, Monica and their driver John(Where did he disappear to?) Thumb Up LaLa Webel Leda WanderingRebel, Mike T, Batman, Sherry and Chris(Always A Blast!!!!), Tony Bro from Triangle Cards(The other part of the Blast!!), TBear(Thanks for everything and the ride from the airport), The Jazzer-Mark(Thanks for the ride to the airport and the trades) and for hanging with us at the Brew House..It was an awesome time, Harris-Even though you forgot to mention seeing me(But I wouldn't blame him)..I saw Kennywood for a second(Who was that masked man?)..The Big Guy Bill Defranzo and Alan Biegel, Denise, Rob, Steve and Amy from Rittenhouse who had some great promos and give aways(Many Many Many Thanks), Joanna K and Evan, Tom Breyer, Tommy, Mike B from Breygent(Thanks For the Awesome Promos and for just being so cool), Curler from Nova Scotia, Mr T, Mrs T, Gayle(Such a Sweetie), Stuff Guy Mike, Barb & Nancy and I think I saw for a half second Frankie Amico..And of Course the Ever Fun Sweet & Awesome Kay from Art Box.. Luv You

The dinner was so much fun and the food was great...I had the beef. But of course I ate the biggest piece of anniversary cake I could find. Frank and Phyllis Reighter were honored and as always were just some super nice people. We were treated to a slide show of the old days. I saw myself a few times which was not the right thing to do while people were eating dinner. It was so great seeing the shows and people from the past(Even Harris with Dark Hair and a Big Mustache). The presentation was very nice. After the show we were given some very awesome promos which everyone has described in previous posts so I won't list them again..Also after the dinner Tony S from Triangle Cards, Sherry and Chris, Mark the Jazzer and Myself went to our usual hangout down town at the Brew House where the fun continued. The next morning I attended the Donut Social long enough to grab a plateful of Donuts(Chocolate Frosted), Coffee, Orange Juice and chat a few seconds with the other Card Talkers. The show went into the second day with Rittenhouse Archives raffling off some superb prizes(Wish I could have entered). I began the count down to having to make a mad dash to the airport at 2:00pm with a few hundred pounds of luggage and a broken suitcase(Guess it couldn't take the weight) to catch a flight out around 5:00pm. With all of the trading, selling and socializing 2:00 came quickly, all to quickly. I packed everything up and started my rounds to say good bye. La La Webel Leda CAOO was AWOL so I missed her Frown
Tbear caught me out side and wished me the best(Such a Great Guy)...The Jazzer got me to the airport quick with the help of his GPS(When he wasn't looking I snatched it off the dash).. Eek Then the fun started...With all of the great promos we were given all of my bags were overweight. My checked bag was 75 pounds, my carry on was 65 pounds and my backpack was 60 pounds...After some presidential greenbacks were exchanged I was on my way to the gate little knowing what was waiting for me. I got to the gate and they loaded us on the plane at 4:30pm and at 4:40 they asked us to get off the plane because "There was a problem"..No it wasn't my over weight luggage. Seems the plane hit something when it landed along with the plane at the next gate which they had the wheels off of looking at it shaking their heads. They said the mechanics could not look at it for a couple hours and when they did they said they had to fly a part in from Atlanta along with a crew to fix it. Sounds fine right? Wrong, Atlanta was shut down and evacuated because of a Tornado and they couldn't leave until 9:00pm to fly to Allentown which should let us leave around midnight. They rerouted 38 of the passengers but told us remaining 12 that there was nothing they could do. We had to wait for the plane to be fixed or wait stand by for the next flight 24 hours later. What to do??? Head to the bar which was right across from the gate. They decided to keep it open for the 8 of us as 4 people went home to wait. I bought one beer but the barkeep never let it get past half empty before filling it up again. Drool Then everyone who came by hearing about the Atlanta 8 bought us drinks. So about 6 hours later and many stiff drinks plus endless beers we departed on the broken/fixed plane for Atlanta with 10 people. Seems we lost 2 of the original 12 somewhere. We landed in Atlanta around 3:00am and wouldn't you know it, the Train and escalators were not working. Remember all those promos from the show? I had to pull my broken luggage and backpack from just about the furthest gate they could put us at. It took about a half hour to walk the distance and I was picked up out front about 3:30 and made it home at 4:00am. At 5:00am after an hour sleeping in that spinning bed it was up to get the kids off to school. I've still not recovered but it has to be the best and most memorable Philly Show Ever for me. Thanks to the Harris' and Reighters for so much fun.. Thumb Up

The Philly Show...
I really do LOVE the Phlly Show.
I really really do. Elephant

The weekend started with me driving nearly seven hours in the wind and rain to get to Allentown, after having had two consecutive nearly sleepless nights in a row.
I never sleep well the first night in a hotel, so that made it three days with little sleep.

Kurt and I drove to the show early to set up the Monsterwax table and to get an early look around. We got misdirected somehow and it took waaaaay longer to get there than it should have.
So we pretty much missed the opportunity to look around before the show started.
When it did start, we found ourselves quite busy
for most of the day. Many people were interested in the upcoming sets and the terrific Norm Saunders book and card set we were selling.
An aside here - I've experienced on many occasions, how terrific the sellers who set up at the show are - a truly great bunch of people, but I have to say, the people who attend the show are really great as well.
I had many enjoyable (though often too brief)conversations with the fine people who visited the table. You guys are awesome and I thank you so much for making the busy days go by like lightening.
I had very little opportunity to get around to check out the amazing variety of material that is always there. Little time as well, to talk with the people I would have liked to spend some time with.
I did get to chat briefly with Kevin Graham and Rich Molinelli - two very terrific guys/artists.
Kate Bradley had a table right next to us on Sunday and I still didn't manage to spend any real time chatting. Just enough to know that she's really nice and very talented.
My intentions to speak with Brian, Sean, Jim and Nar were thwarted by lack of time.
I really do hope I get that opportunity some time. Lordy, but there was a lot of great art on exhibit from these people. Ted Dastick came by the table with some awesome original art he did for an upcoming project. Thanks again Ted!

The Anniversary Dinner was a very special event for me. Everyone involved did such a terrific job. Seeing the pictures from years gone by was as nostalgic for me as looking through my high school yearbook (though if I were to look through my yearbook now, the pages would probably crumble into dust Wink )
A very nice event handled with taste and feeling. Thank you all so much for that.

After the show Saturday, we stopped to look for a camera memory card and ended up getting hopelessly lost (again) and driving around until eleven or so before getting back to the hotel. I would love to have gotten in on the Red Robin get together. Maybe next time.
Sunday, the trip to the show was blocked by a marathon, again taking up our early browsing time. The crowd was a little smaller and the day a bit more relaxed. Still no time to look around or chat however.
After packing up the car, I found, as did Kennywood, that my car battery had been drained.
Strange, eh Kevin? Alien battery thieves perhaps?
Thankfully, Harris was there to give me a jump and get us on our way.
Thank you Harris! Thumb Up

The ride home began with a bad accident ahead of me on the Route 22 bridge out of Allentown. It took a while to get around that. Then the rain came and accompanied me the entire rest of the way home, including the hour and a half being stuck in traffic near the GWB. Got home around midnight quite exhausted.
Traveling tribulations aside, I had a great time.
I LOVE the Philly Show.
Thank you Frank and Phyllis.
Thank you Tosers.
Thank you everyone who makes me look forward to this show every year.
I hope to bring all the money I didn't get to spend this time to the Fall show. I can't wait.
Did I mention I LOVE the Philly Show?

OMG TWS!!! What an ordeal! Should have just stayed in the car and came to Atlantic City with me!

Anyway - I'm too cheap to pay the casino for internet service they should comp, so I just got home and back online. I had a complete blast at the show!

I got to Allentown a little later than I hoped, and then couldn't check into the hotel until after 4:00 or something that seemed awfully crazy, so checked my luggage there and off to the show.

First stop - SciFiCards. Bought the Irwin Allen preview set Ed brought for me and did some trading. Then toured the LARGE floor and my eyes fell upon an Eclipse James Bond binder brand new in plastic for a price I couldn't pass up. Found my way to both Tom (TWS) and Tony (Triangle Cards) booths and did a little initial trading and/or negotiating. Found some of the people I had arranged to trade with (Sorry to those I missed - will e-mail separately) and got some awesome promos. AND I won the Star Trek set from Rittenhouse Archives that included the USB card (I was later told there are only 100 of the PP17 USB card). Hmmm... what to do with this? I collect a little bit of Trek, but... maybe someone will REALLY want this pretty badly... I also got Steve to spill as many beans as he would regarding LOST, which I will have to check and how many details are public yet before I say anything.

About 4:30 - drove back across town to the hotel to check in and clean up a bit before dinner, then back for the dinner - and drinks after with my new friends Tom and Tony - who were acquaintances - and Chris and Sherri. They all were trying to convince me to come to San Diego. Too late for this year, but...

Sunday Morning off to breakfast... then to finalize some trading with Triangle Cards, who had an Inkworks POTA binder that I didn't want to go home without. After some back and forth, I got that along with a Roger Moore A29 auto card and some other items. Then he made me an awesome offer on the Star Trek set... (or was it the day before? it all runs together) Hmmm... Have to consider that... walked the room a bit more. Found some singles for some of my vintage sets, bought the Encyclopedia from NSU, a few more promos, another trade with TWS, Traded a bit with Dave Moulder and took a chance at with a handful of packs from his budget bin (nothing big, but a few good chase cards) and took the incredible offer on the Star Trek set (it isn't like Tony to trade that heavy in my favor...). 2:00 - took Tom to the airport - eventually (stupid GPS doesn't know you can't turn left there!?) and off to Atlantic City to extend my vacation.

Thanks to EVERYONE involved, this was a great time!

One thing I found odd was that none of the dealers seemingly had any of the Inkworks promo cards for Ghost Whisperer and/or Doctor Who (other than those found in NSU). I was prepared to pay premium prices for the cards but I couldn't find them. I guess I'll have to try eBay. Still, I'd rather have given my money to the dealers at the show.

Kevin,

Inkworks Ghost Whisperer promos:

P1 was never distributed to dealers. Those requesting it with the Pi mail in offer got them (except me) and only 1 dealer that I know of received any. That is where I got mine. He did not even realize that he appeared to be the only dealer with them. He jacked his price up once I told him and after he researched it some himself.

P3 - not distributed. Only 1 place to get it and it is on Ebay. (that we know of)

P-UK - again, not distributed. Only 1 place to get it, again Ebay. (that we know of).

So the only one fully released was the P2 via NSU.

I had only 1 spare P1 (bought an extra) and it went quickly at the show.

And you most definitely will pay a premium to get all 3 of those...

As for Doctor Who, we have not seen any other promos yet besides what had previously been known to exist.

Mike.

I had a great time at the show. Nice to see everyone. The weekend went way to quickly. I'd sit here and name all of you off, but you know who you are.

Oh and I now have some virus that I am willing to bet I caught at the show. I did NOT go into the nudie bar either. So if anyone I hung out with gets a sore throat, tight chest, and headaches, you are contagious my friends. I'd say sorry, but one of you gave it to me, so there.

Todd, I think you caught it on POTA when you posed for your avatar.

I'm sorry that I missed everybody, yet again. I think I've met most everybody in the flesh at least once *except Todd*, who seems to stay in Maine whenever I can make it to Pennsylvania ...

I'm very encouraged that turnout was good, and that we had a good chance for the Reighters to bask in their brilliance. Wink

This happens to me every time I hang out with you. Doses of "Todd" should come with an FDA warning.

Hey, you set yourself up for it, man. Razz
