Time again for this show in a little over a month from now...Sunday, August 10th. A large room of 85 tables...40-50 dealers. Mostly comics and toys...previous shows there have been 2-4 non-sports dealers there including me....however the last show I was the only non-sports dealer in the room. Please stop by and say hello as I would love to see/meet card talk members!

Guests include artists Dick Giordano, Alex Saviuk, and Fran Matera.

I am located at the 1st 2 tables on the right of the center aisle as you walk in (unless they change the entrance door!). 2 tables of cards, comics and statues. Just tell me you saw this on Card Talk and I will have some goodies for you!

Hope to see you there!!

David

Hi, I am a Non-Sport Card Collector and Dealer in the Tampa area, I was not able to make it to the last Tampa toy and comic show, but I am looking forword to the one in August. If I like what I see, I would like to set up at the Tampa toy and comic show in November. If I could get your thoughts on this, would you think there would be interestin a Tampa Non-Sport Card Show. Thanks.

Hi! Look forward to seeing you at the show! I think you will like what you see and Tim the promoter always gets a nice crowd and mix of dealers.

As far as a Non-Sports only show...I would be interested. However, it might be difficult to get enough non-sports only dealers. This show usually does not have more than 4 dealers handling non-sports...there could be more out there? Anyone have input....how many other dealers would be willing to set up at a non-sports show in the Tampa Bay area?

I also will have Journey to the Center of the Earth sell sheets and a limited amount of X-Files Movie sell sheets and promos. Stop by, say hi, let me know you are a Card Talk member.

Also, anyone looking to trade and/or sell material please feel free to bring it by as I always like to look and make deals!!

Well, back to getting the mass of mess ready for next weekend...take care!!

Here is your show report:

Another great Tampa Show! The room was busy....a local radio station played up the show all week and people were streaming through the room all day long.

While sales were good in all categories non-sports cards led the way for me again, outselling the next category (comics) by more than 2-to-1. Sets lead the way again with comic sets the most popular...sales included Evil Ernie, Batman: Saga of the Dark Knight, Smallville, Iron Man, Marvel Masterpieces (new UD series) 1 & 2. Other non-comic set sales were...Charmed Forever, Nightmare Before Christmas, GPK (both original and ANS series), Wacky Packs (ANS), Star Wars Galaxy 1 & 2, KISS 2, and as always, plenty of Bettie Page!

Insert sales were good...comic inserts from many Marvel and DC series including a set of Marvel 3 holograms, Marvel Flair inserts and DC Legacy inserts.

I rarely sell boxes...sales of Lost Season 3 and Scooby Doo 2 were nice surprises!

Very happy with card sales as well as sales overall....lots of customers looking through binders made for a nice day! I did not get to walk around much....I did not see any other non-sports dealers in attendance...a couple of tables had small selections of cards...would really like to see a few non-sports dealers in the mix. Only had 1 Card Talk member stop by for some promos. If anyone else stopped by I would love to hear what you thought of the show.

Here's a tip for all of the manufacturers out there: want a sure sell out....get the license for the Watchmen Movie cards. Big buzz in the room already for this movie and it does not come out until March, 2009. If it is done right I will be able to sell a ton of it!!

Again my thanks to show promoter Tim Gordon who did his usual fantastic job!!

Next show is November 9, 2008....see you there!!

Thanks for the show report...

My Dad lives in Bradenton so I may get to one of these Tampa shows especially when things cool down a bit in Nov-Dec-Jan. Thumb Up
