Honestly, except for the Bruce Campbell and the Sergio Aragones panels, nothing on the Thursday schedule would have appealed to me. I guess it's good I'll not be there, huh? LOL

Yes, there can be a lot of crossover, but there is no way to do everything you would like, there's just too much going on. However, I would rather have too many choices than none at all. Consider, also, that Thursday is a "slow" day, wait until Sat. and Sun. when the panels really start to heat up!

Best not be anything Saturday morning to interfere with our function!! Eek Well, I guess there already is, two members are either missing Card Talk completely or part of it, to go the Diamond Comics breakfast. Priorities, priorities. Big Grin

I see they say they are going to be posting the schedule one day at a time. Does anyone know when Friday's schedule will be posted?

Looks like Thursday will be exhibit hall day for me, as I'm not interested in any of that programming. Then, it'll be off to see a Shakespeare play that evening.

Incidentally, Harris, we'll be skipping the Diamond Comics breakfast and hanging with the Card Talk crowd instead. Smile I've got my priorities straight.

quote:
The Jim Henson Company, Destination Films, Samuel Goldwyn Films, and DARK HORSE have teamed up to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund by hosting the Fund's MirrorMask Welcome Party at Comic-Con International. Featuring art, props, and images from the upcoming film MirrorMask —in theaters September 30—this gala party will be held at the Westgate Hotel's Terrace Under the Stars on Thursday July 14 from 8 PM until 11 PM. The catered event will be free to card-carrying CBLDF members and open to all others for a suggested $5 - $15 sliding scale donation. Attendees will also receive a MirrorMask Takeaway, courtesy of The Jim Henson Company, be entered into a special raffle, and view a trailer of the film.

From the imagination of CBLDF board member Neil Gaiman and visionary artist Dave McKean, MirrorMask tells the story of Helena, a fifteen-year-old girl working for her family circus, who wishes—quite ironically—that she could run away from the circus and join real life. But such is not to be the case, as she finds herself on a strange journey into the Dark Lands, a fantastic landscape filled with giants, Monkeybirds and dangerous sphinxes. Helena searches for the MirrorMask, an object of enormous power that is her only hope of escaping the Dark Lands, waking the Queen of Light and returning home.

The CBLDF's MirrorMask Welcome Party is on Thursday July 14, starting at 8 PM. The Westgate is located at 1055 Second Avenue in Downtown San Diego. MirrorMask props and merchandise will also be available in the Fund's Saturday night auction. For more information about the party, please call the CBLDF at 1-800-99-CBLDF, or visit our website: http://www.cbldf.org. To learn more about MirrorMask, please visit http://www.mirrormask.com
