Hi!

As usual, my only company when opening my box for OTB are my three cats. My wife has gone to bed and my daughter has been sleeping for a while allready.
Well, this year I have been holding on to a Star Wars Galaxy series 5 to break into.

Here goes:

8 of 15 silver foils
1 bronze foil paralell
4 of 6 etched foils
1 Lost galaxy - 3 of 5
And 1 cute sketch Smile

Was hoping for an autograph, but still quite happy!

I bought boxes of things that would do two things: Add to my sketch card and on-card autograph collections, and give me trading material for sketch cards and on-card autographs. Hopefully I'll do both!

All right, let's get my mini party started. This is gonna be a looooooooooong post. Big Grin

Let's start off with an appetizer or three.. 3 packs of 5Finity's Moonstone Maximum Sketch Card Series (that's a mouthful)... I love 5Finity, but they need a better way to make packs. These are so tough to open!

Pack 1 (#704/1299): The Phantom by Bryan Turner

Pack 2: (#705/1299): Domino Lady by Lou Manna

Pack 3: (#706/1299): The Phantom by Trina Gibbons, autographed by writer Trina Robbins (which makes it difficult for me to figure out WHERE in my collection this will go... Sketch cards or on-card autographs).

Well that was fun! Next up:

The Very Best of the Saint by Cards, Inc. (2003)

This is the weirdest box I've ever opened, it's almost all collated for you to set build, hehe. Packs have cards in order!

- 1 complete 100 card set (maybe 2, didn't build after that).
- Infamous Simon Templar Puzzle Cards (1:8): 1, 3, 4, 7, 8
- 4 Saintly Mechandise inserts (1:12): 3, 4, 5, 6
- 1 Autograph (1:36): SA15 David Graham as Juan Gamma

Next up!

35 Years of Red Sonja - Back to Basics by Dynamic Forces (2009)

This box beckoned to me. I don't think I've ever read a Red Sonja comic (other than when Mary-Jane turned into her in a Spider-Man issue), but I love the theme and the artwork.

- 2 complete 72 card sets + extras.
- 5 Foil Puzzle Cards (1:7)
- 5 Holofoil Cards (1:7): 1, 2, 3 5, 6
- Autographs (1:18): Adam Hughes, Michael Avon Oeming
- Sketch Cards (1:36): Jay Leisten /200

Now it's time for four boxes of...

2010 Razor Ink Vault

Box 1 Autographs: Anne Lockhart as Lt. Sheba (Rittenhouse BSG), Kyle Gallner as Bart Allen (Inkworks Smallville Season 4), Garwin Sanford as Simon (Rittenhouse Stargate Atlantis), Sigrid Valdis as Miss Peacemeal (Rittenhouse Wild Wild West)

Unopened Box: Family Guy: Episode 1 A New Hope

Box 2 Autographs: Kauan Smith as Agent Carrity (Inkworks The 4400), Colin Cunningham as Major Davis (Rittenhouse Stargate SG-1), Lindsay Cardinale (Fleer American Idol Season 4), Joe Dante - Director (Inkworks Small Soldiers).

Unopened Box: Twilight New Moon

Box 3 Autographs: Colin Salmon as Max (Inkworks Alien Vs. Predator), Carmen Argenziano as Jacob Selmak (Rittenhouse Stargate SG-1), Alvin Sanders as Principal Pelson (Rittenhouse The Dead Zone), Billy Campbell as Jordan Coller (Inkworks The 4400).

Unopened Box: Press Pass Elvis Presley

Box 4 Autographs: Jennifer Darling as Peggy Callahan (Rittenhouse Six Million Dollar Man), David Chokachi as Jack McCarthy (Inkworks Witchblade), Peter Wingfield as Tanith (Rittenhouse Stargate SG-1), Jeffery Combs as Kevin Burkhoff (Inkworks The 4400).

Unopened Box: Inkworks Lost Season 2

Well, let's open that Lost box!

Lost Season Two, Inkworks (2006)

- At least 1 base set.
- Boxloader: BL-1
- Betrayal (1:17): B-1, B-2
- ? (1:11): ?-5, ?-6. ?-7
- Autographs: Redemption (doh!) L. Scott Caldwell - Rose Henderson
- Pieceworks: PW-1 Terry O'Quinn as John Locke

Darn redemptions. :P Time for some musical magic! Never opened this before...

Elvis Presley Trading Cards, Press Pass

This is confusing, I'm wasn't sure what the 1:1 TCB parallels were until I felt that one card wasn't glossy. Then, in the light I saw the TCB logo on them, like a reverse watermark. Weird!

I'm not going to set these out, as I'm running low on time and I still have 2 boxes (not doing the Family Guy or Twilight) left.

- Wertheimer Negatives (1:14): WN-1, WN7
- Autographs or Memorabilia (1:28): Gordon Stoker Auto (back-up singer)

Now, back to something a bit more fun, hehe... 2 boxes of:

The Quotable Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Rittenhouse (2007)

Just gonna show the hits of both boxes. I need to start the grill for steaks!

Costume Cards (2 per box): Worf, Quark, Worf, Dax.
Autographs (1 per box): Lark Voorheis, K Callan

That's all! Time for baseball, grillin', and beer. :P

I made the mistake of getting a Topps Indiana Jones Heritage box for OTDB.

It gave me a screaming monkey sketch card by RW.
Previous boxes had given me anything else I might have wanted from this set, so I haven't sorted it.

    Happy Open That Box! Day!

This year, I chose a box of "The Women of Star Trek" to open. While my hopes were high that my three autograph cards would be Gates McFadden, Joan Collins and Jeri Ryan, the reality is that none were in my box. Frown Still, I didn't do too bad.

Here are the autograph cards I pulled:

Here are the costume cards I pulled:

And here I am with my set:

Doing this together with other collectors around the world is a lot of fun! Big Grin

I've been saving one box of Women Of Star Trek, & moved since I bought it so it took my a while to locate it! However, I did, finally, and here is my breakdown:

Autgraphs

Lisa Wilcox as Yuta in TNG(Don't remember this episode, I 'think' it may have been the one where Wesley Crusher fell for her, but she looked like a giant wasp rather than human - anyone?)

Chase Masterson (One of my least favorite characters in all Star Trek) Frown

Sally Kellerman from TOS Clap One of the few autos from various sets I was never able to get, glad to finally pull one!

COSTUMES:

WCC25 - Darlene Carr as E'Tyshara in DS9(don't remember the episode)

WCC 2- Capt. Janeway from Endgame Clap

Chase cards:

RR8 - Spock & Chapel
LL4 - Jadzia Dax
Artwork Portraits - Hoshi Sato, Seven of Nine, Capt. Janeway

One base set.

Fun to open today, HORRIBLE waiting. I am thrilled with the Sally Kellerman and the Janeway costume, the rest are coming to Philly to trade in May.

Thanks NSU for Open That Box day!

Smile Hola!

Just about managed to squeeze in opening a box before midnight...just took a little while sorting everything out.

I opened a box of...Kung Fu Panda Smile

It was great fun and extremely therapeutic.

I got 2 base sets, 2 sets of the sparkly stickers, Diecut cards T1 T2 T3 T5 and T6, and Motion cards M1 M7 M8.

A nice set.

All the best to everyone Smile

I opened three boxes at midnight(which is a first for me)- I got two boxes of "Women of Star Trek" - the only new set I've bought so far this year and a box of "Wolverine: Origin" cards that I got for cheap at a store clearance sale. I'd have posted my results last night, but the BF's internet was down. While he was doing work, I opened all three of my boxes.

Box #1-

Women of Star Trek
Box#: 2815

One full set with 27 extras
Kira Nerys/Yeoman Rand/Uhura portraits
RR1- William T. Riker/Deanna Troi
LL3- Beverly Crusher Dance
WCC10- Jolene Blalock costume material
WCC12- Terry Farrell costume material- "Blood Oath" (my 2nd)
Lee Meriwether as Losira from Star Trek (Limited) (my 2nd)
Susan Gibney as Dr. Leah Brahms from Star Trek: The Next Generation (my 2nd)
Penny Johnson Jerald as Kasidy Yates from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Dance

Not a bad box, but too many repeat autographs for my taste- not bad ones though, but I wondered if my luck would be good or bad tonight after the first box.

Box 2-
Wolverine: Origins
Box#: 5167

NO FULL SET!
G2, G4
A3, A5, A9
C4, C5, C7
Aaron Jeffery as Thomas Logan
Tim Pocock as Scott

I didn't see the movie, so I have no attachment to these autograph cards- I bought the box for cheap and I figured why not- there could have been a Hugh Jackman card in there, but alas. It did stink that I didn't get a base set though. Frown

So after this, I'm thinking I gotta recover my OTB day a bit- so on to the last box.

Box #3:
Women of Star Trek
Box#: 3837

One full set with 27 extras
Captain Janeway/T'Pol/B'Elanna Torres portraits
RR7- James T. Kirk/Edith Keeler
LL7- Seven of Nine(AGAIN!)
WCC18- Gates McFadden costume material- "Chain of Command"
WCC14- Nicole de Boer costume material (black)
Kate Vernon as Commander Valerie Archer from Star Trek: Voyager
Jennifer Lien as Kes from Star Trek: Voyager (VL)- YES!!! Elephant
Tina Lifford as Lee from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

So the last box proved the best- I got three new autographs and two new costumes, which is all I could ask for. I was also thrilled to hit a VL, since I haven't hit that many in this release.

I love OTB day and I am glad I could share my breaks with all of you- it's been a tradition I've enjoyed since it's inception and I have to say this OTB day has probably had the best results for me yet!

Happy box opening day!

Val

Bring that 2nd Lee Meriwether autograph to Philly, there may be a certain car-mate who may want to trade you! Big Grin

Well- apparently I have no self control- I went down to a comic shop in my neighborhood that I knew had run out of WOST cards and lo and behold they had two boxes there. I could only afford one, so I decided why not- it is OTBD after all.

Here are my results:

Box#: 870

One full set with 27 extras
Jadzia Dax/Uhura/Kira Nerys portraits
RR1- Riker and Troi
LL5- Kira Nerys (Thankfully not a 7 of 9)
WCC9- Jolene Blalock costume material
WCC15!- Marina Sirtis costume material (green swatch and VL!!!) Elephant
Claire Rankin as Alice from Star Trek: Voyager (again!)
Susan Gibney as Dr. Leah Brahms from Star Trek: The Next Generation (my 3rd)
Rhonda Aldrich as Madeline (L) Clap

Darn good box with a limited auto, and two new costumes including the VL one that I didn't think I would pull. Wish I had gotten two other common autos, but I can trade those or something.

Val

Bought a box of Women of Star Trek a few weeks ago just for today.
Mentioned this at the Rittenhouse table at the show, and they were
amazed I could hold off opening it for a few weeks!
Got the usual distro of chase cards:
3 Artifex cards
1 Romantic Relationships
1 Leading Ladies
2 costume cards
3 autographs, one of them Nana Visitor!

The cards were great to look at, but aside from the name of the
character and actor, and perhaps the episode, there was no additional
text. Also, the selection between Trek Series was a bit lopsided; 27
for TOS and TNG, and only 9 each for DS9, VOY, and ENT. I would have
preferred more for DS9 and VOY, since they both were 7 seasons each.
One small disappointment, which very rarely happens with Rittenhouse;
I didn't get a common card number 42 (Admiral Nechayev). I've got a
dealer friend who'll send me one for free, and I know that Rittenhouse
will provide it if asked, so it's not a problem.
I appreciate the quality and care that Rittenhouse gives to it's
products, and look forward to more Trek sets in the future. I hear
that the Quotable Movies is out next; Hey how about Quotable Voyager
and Quotable Enterprise???

I opened two boxes of the "original" razor ink archives--5 packs per box.

Box 1.
Alec Newman A40 Angel
Betty Lynn A4 TV's Coolest Classics
Marsha Thomason A-29 Lost
Brendan Fraser A1 LooneyTunes Back in Action
Mike Mignola A5 Hellboy

Box 2.
Gordon Michael Woolvett A5 Andromeda
Colin Salmon A2 AvP
T.W. King A4 Charmed
Brad Beyer A6 Jericho
Annette O'Toole A7 Smallville

A bit disappointed as I try not to remember how much I paid for the boxes originally. Still exciting to open something. Happy with Annette O'Toole.

My store still had Women of Star Trek, so I went in for another box in honor of today. Did pretty good even though this is my 7th box.

Box #3916:
One base set and 27 doubles
RR1 Riker and Troi
LL9 Linda Park
Artwork cards - T'Pol, Janeway and Torres
WCC3 Janeway
WCC22 7 0f 9 (Limited)
Autographs - Michele Scarabelli, Barbara March and Denise Crosby.

Happy that I needed 2 of the 3 autographs (had the March) and didn't have either costume card, including the limited one. Clap

Had everything else. I may have to start picking up single autographs now. The risk of pulling doubles on the common autographs and costumes goes up with each box, and I have gotten five doubles already. Smile

Just sliding in with my post! I had a box of Fantasic Four Movie from Upper Deck that I have been holding onto. My son and I split the packs and I got a DD003 Doom Cloak 4219/4999. This will make my 28th Doom Cloak! Before I die I will have all 4999! That's my goal. My son got A DD004 Doom Cloak 366/499. This is only our second one of these. Always hope for one of the cards I don't have but it is always fun knowing I will always have a Doom Cloak to make my collection!

I started at 3:00 AM this morning as my dog started barking at something and then went promptly back to sleep, leaving me awake with nothing to do except........................

OPEN MY 4 BOXES FOR OTBD!!!!!

The excitement of opening was better than the haul. Although it did help me to go back to sleep. Razz

Got a Shrek 3 sketch, as well as very low numbered HBP Tonks costume card and a pretty neat Advanced Potion Making Book cover prop. card. Nada from the Indy Heritage nor the Scooby Doo M&M Box.

12 Green Border cards
8 Pink Border cards
4 Silver Border cards
1 Gold Border card (#51a) Thumb Up

Nice autos, but the same box as my first ink vault box.

So I decided to open the 2 boxes of Smallville season 5 - both pulled from 2010 Ink Vault.

Box 1
auto - Brooke Nevin as Buffy Sanders
pieceworks - Annette O'Toole as Martha Kent sweater
BL3
The Price of Life PL1, PL6
Trangle TR5, TR6, TR7

Box 2
auto - Alan Ritchson as Arthur Curry
pieceworks - James Marsters as Professor Fine shirt
BL3
The Price of Life PL1, PL4, PL5
Triangle TR1, TR2, TR3

Not bad overall. I liked the look of the cards, but have not even started to look at base card sorting yet.

Good luck all, and happy opening.
