Woo-Hoo! Thanks to some bargains on eBay, and the help of one Card Talker who came to the aid of the party (thanks Luke!) I have now completed my Thunderbirds The Mobie set that I started with the purchase of a sealed box and a binder for £5... By careful bidding and a lot of patience, I've completed the set for the minimum of expenditure - I even got the two preview sets (the Memorabilia one AND the Woolworths/The Sun) cheaply, and most of the autographs were a steal on eBay or from friendly stall holders at shows!
Now, I know that, technically, it's not complete as I only have sketches from two of the artists (John Czop and Graham Bleathman) and there is a colour variation on the Brains' Shirt (I have the brown/green version and I have seen a blue check version) but I'll get those if they are cheap enough - in the meantime, I have a master (in a little over a year), and I probably spent less than £100 on it!
Au Res.,
Paul

p.s. Now what? Big Grin

Um, you start on the next master set. And post again to tell us you've completed it in another year. Wink

Seriously, though, congrats. It's cool that you collected the set this way, with so much patience.

Thanks Kennywood! The closest I've got before is the Memories From The Future set from Skybox from which I was missing only the Captains Card (which I did have but had to sell) and the near mythical Rick Berman autograph...

You mean you can have more than ONE set at a time? Big Grin

Yep, I must get on to that movie set, just as soon as I can get myself sorted on using the keyboard on the iPod! (which reminds me - I MUST update my checklist to remove the T'birds cards from it!)

Thanks all! It gets better - I won another T'birds sketch last night on eBay and picked up yet another today at the Royal National show i London (thanks to JTH!) which means I now have (or will have when the cards arrive through the post) examples of 4 of the 7 artists listed on Jeff Allender's website as having contributed to the set!

No worries. I am used to about Stephanie so I will not take it personal ;-)

It's more common in English Stephanie then Stephane :-)

I just sent you an email.

Thanks,
Stephane
