Boxes are 24 packs of 8 cards, 12 boxes per Hobby case. A few "1/1" top inserts are found only in Hobby boxes, which also have better odds for most of the autos and relics. So I expect both Hobby and Retail boxes should yield a complete base set plus about a third more in extras. Hobby boxes are expected to contain 2 "hits" of signed or relic cards, with Retail boxes holding 1 or 2. There are different odds for Hobby, Retail, and (in a few cases) Blaster packs, so I'll abbreviate those below with H, R, and B, respectively.

The set consists of cards 1-125 plus "short prints" for cards 126-150, and the latter should be considered inserts. I found one each of 3 checklist cards per box, and I don't know if these three are the same as Hobby checklist inserts, perhaps with a 4th added for the Hobby-only inserts. One would expect 1.40 base sets of 125 per Retail box and about 1.35 base sets per Hobby box.

Redemption cards are used for the B.B. King autograph and the King, Estrada, Ventura, and Walsh/Treanor relics. Note that the checklists showed only one listing/card number per president for the Presidential Patches cards, # to 50, but there is one card for every letter in each president's last name. This makes for 285 different items in 43 subsets.

-1 GIULIANI STADIUM SEAT
-1 BLOOMBERG STADIUM WALL
AMERICAN MOMENTS RELIC CARDS
-1 POPE JOHN PAUL II STADIUM WALL
-2 POPE BENEDICT XVI STADIUM WALL

PERSONAL REMARKS
THE CARDS WERE PRINTED ON A NICE STOCK, I LIKED THE SUBJECTS IN THE SET. I WISHED THEY WOULD HAVE NOT CHOSEN THE 1971 TOPPS BASEBALL CARDS PRINTING STYLE DUE TO THE ALL BLACK BORDER, EVERY TIME I GOT ONE OUT OF A PACK THE CORNERS WOULD BE NOTICABLY DEFECTIVE AS WELL AS EDGES BEING PULLED AWAY FROM CARD. IT WILL BE HAD TO GET A TRUE MINT SHORT PRINT SET OF THIS DUE TO THAT. THE INSENTIVES, THE FIRST 5 BOXES WERE A STADIUM SEAT CARD WITH A PRISIDENTIAL PATCH CARD. I LIKE THE STADIUM SEAT CARDS TO A POINT AS A COLLECTOR BUT AS A DEALER THEY ARE A LOW DOLLOR ITEM. THE PRESIDENTIAL PATCH CARDS ARE IN THE SAME BALL PARK, SO TO SAY I LIKE THEM AS A COLLECTOR BUT AS A DEALER LOW DOLLAR AMOUNT. ON THE BOX IT SAYS 2 RELICS OR AUTOGRAPHS PER BOX. WELL, I OPENED A WHOLE HOBBY CASE AND 1 AUTOGRAPH JESSE VENTURA CARD 04/150. THAT STATMENT ABOUT 2 RELICS OR AUTOGRAPHS, THE LOWEST ODDS ON GETTING AN AUTOGRAPH ARE 1 OUT OF 447 PACKS. THERE ARE ONLY 288 PACKS PER CASE, SO THAT WOULD MEAN AUTOGRAPHS ARE 1 OUT OF 18 BOXES (1 1/2 CASES) I LOVE TOPPS, BUT THIS PRODUCT SEEMED LIKE A NON-SPORT ALLEN & GINTER PRODUCT WHEN IT WAS BEING PROMOTED AND WHEN YOU OPEN IT DID NOT HOLD ITS VALUE. THIS PRODUCT WILL APPEAL TO THE PACK RIPPER "JUNKIES" FOR THE 1 OF 1 CUTS AND VERY FANTASTIC PULLS THAT ARE BASICLY IMPOSSIBLE AND THE NON-SPORT COLLECTORS LIKE MYSELF. MY LAST COMMENT IS BABE RUTH IS DEAD CENTER ON THE BOX WHEN HE IS NOT EVEN IN THE SET, THERE IS NO BABE RUTH CARD.

PERSONAL SUGGESTIONS
-LESS OF STADIUM SEAT CARDS (I GOT 10 OF THEM)
-MORE AUTOGRAPHS, MAYBE 1 AUTOGRAPH OUT OF EVERY 2 BOXES ( 5 TO 6 PER CASE)
-BOX TOPPERS, ANOTHER INSENTIVE FOR THE BOX, AS WELL AS AUTOGRAPHED BOX TOPPERS (PUT NON-SPORT AND SPORT BOX TOPPER SUBJECTS)
-IF MORE LETTER PATCHES BEING MADE MAKE THAT THE RANDOM 3RD ITEM BEING PULLED FROM BOX INSTED OF IT GOING UNDER THE "RELIC" CATIGORY OF PULLED ODDS.

OVERALL GRADE

COLLECTOR GRADE A
DEALER GRADED

A = GREAT
B = GOOD
C = AVERAGE
D = POOR
F = VERY BAD

I bought a blaster box, didn't get anything special but I like the base set. I got this card:

Paul Revere or...JACK BLACK? You decide.

LOL! I have been looking at the backs trying to put sets together and have not even noticed the fronts on many of them. If anybody has stuff they don't want...please check my want/have list as I am trying to put together a mini master.

that painting is by john copley if your interested. He was probably the greatest american portrait artist of all time. That is one of his masterpieces...its funny, but the card cuts off the bottum of that painting, which is where some of his true mastery comes out, in the reflection in the polished wood table he is resting on, holding of all things his signature silvertea service. i had no idea the set was using that quality of images. have to pick one up now. thanks for sharing that.

I've opened 3 boxes of American Heritage over the past 2 weeks. I don't know if this is just the way it broke for me or if it is reflected in the whole run. With 3 boxes I don't have 1 complete base set.

Now here's the thing, all the Barack Obama cards are in cards 126 - 150, the end of the set. I have multiples of all cards up to 125. I'm missing 11 of the last 25 cards. They are not all Obama, but they are the election. I also got 3 doubles in the section.

Unless my boxes were a wierd exception, it sure looks to me like Topps short printed cards 126 -150 knowing that Obama would be of prime interest.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Woops, sorry I just read allender and he stated that they are short. I guess you now know how short. Three boxes and 11 cards shy.

No big hits on the inserts, just stadium seats and one patch card. I like the set, but I'm probably done buying boxes now.

I can only speak to retail boxes. So far, I've only pulled one duplicate shortprint, one dual autograph and two patch cards.

Hobby boxes are supposed to have two big hits per box.

For those interested in trading please check the postings on the TRADE page. Maybe you can finish off sets and chase. Good hunting, dudes!

I tried my best by adding up the posted odds for all of the items, and it came out as 2.06 hits per Hobby box and 0.9995 hits per Retail box. I think we can safely assume that the intent was to have one hit per Retail box. Cool
