I am still waiting for my case - the USPS tracking says that at 6.26 AM delivery was attempted - not at my address it wasn't, which is a bit worrying!

That caught me out as well, it seems to be code for "Parcel Force are holding your case till customs fees have been paid" You can wait for the letter from Parcel Force to arrive, or phone them quoting the tracking number and they will take payment over the phone. I did it this way (as soon as they opened in the morning) and the case was delivered later the same day.

Hope that helps

Hi everyone. I'm new here...

I love the Dexter show, and when I found out about this card set, I knew I had to have some. I've never really collected or purchased non-sport cards before, but after buying these (and subsequently some Veronica Mars), I think I'm addicted!!!!

Anyway, I opened three boxes - two of which I purchased from an e-bay retailer and one from my local LCS. I already mixed them up so I can't tell you which came in which box, but out of three here is what I got:

Box #s: 314, 478, 3207

4 complete base sets
115 extras
Dexter Group: DG1, DG2 (x3)
Dexter Dream Scenes: DS2 (x3)
Dexter Portraits: DT2 (x2), DT3
Dexter the Killer: DK1, DK5
Dexter's Relationships: DR2 (x2 - one has read marks across it), DR4
The Dark Defender: DD3 (x3)
Behind the Scenes: DB1, DB2 (x2), DB4
Costumes: DC4, DC14 (x2 - and these actual were in the same box), DC19, DC20
Props: DPC3
Autos: DA1 Dexter, DA8 Sgt. Doakes - the Doakes card was signed on the side and not across the bottom.

Getting Michael C. Hall auto was great and I was pretty pleased. I really want to get more of these and would actually like to get a case!!!

And like I said, I think I'm addicted. Might be looking at the Harry Potter HBP cards next.

I don't know a lot about the loaded boxes, other than they were randomly placed in cases (not all cases had one). Has anyone opened one? I've seen a few listed on e-bay, but no reports of opening...

I opened a loaded box, I did not get any costume cards but I pulled a prop card (DPC3) along with the 11 autos and sketch.

yep. and there are only 11 for this set, so it was a complete auto set.

Its been nearly a week since I opened my case, but since I am a bit slow with the scanner I might as well give my break without pics. (You`ve all seen the cards anyway Smile )

Box 1: DC17 and DC18 costume cards

Box 2: DC18 costume and DPC5 prop-card

Box 3: DC15 and DC16 costume cards and DA6 auto

Box 4: DC10 and DC21 costume cards and DA5 auto

Box 5: DC2 and DC7 costume cards and DA9 auto

Box 6: DC19 and DC21 costume cards

Box 7: DC3 and DC7 costume cards and DA4 auto

Box 8: DC13 costume, DA7 auto and a sketch (Brian Kong)

Box 9: DC14 and DC19 costume cards and DPC3 prop

Box 10: DC4 costume

Box 11: DC11 and DC21 costume cards

Box 12: DC8, DC9 and DC10 costume cards, DA8 auto and DPC4 prop

Summary:
Dexters relationships: 2 sets - 3 extras
Dexter dream scenes: 6 sets - 1 extra
Dexter the killer: 1 set - 6 extras
Behind the scenes: 1 set - 9 extras (!)
Dexter portraits: 2 sets - 4 extras
Dexter group:6 sets - 1 extra
The dark defender: 2 sets - 3 extras

1 sketch

6 autographs - Happy to get 6 in the case, but was really hoping for either Hall, Benz and or Carpenter, but got neither of them.

22 costume cards - 16 of them different (the DC11 - Lundy FBI- jacket is a plain yellow/gold piece) Its bound to be some repeats, but with 21 different to get and not that many very limited its a bit dissapointing getting 3 of the DC21 and 3 other dupes.

Props: Got the three usual, of course I would have wanted a piece of the hand and the foot, but happy with these nontheless!

I am quite happy with my case, but a Hall, Benz or Carpenter- auto, or a hand or foot- prop would really make me happy. So quite happy, but not super-excited.

All in all a nice set, if its one thing I would comment it have to be that the autograph cards, and to some extent the costume cards, are so thin. A couple of the autos were quite crumpled.

Here's the 3 "hits" from one of the 400 San Diego Comic Con exclusive DEXTER box sets. It's a beautiful white box with red foil and inside is a 72 card set plus 2 costume cards (from a SDCC exclusive 3 card set) and one sketch card. My sketch was a nice painting by Jason Carrier from the famous opening title sequence. I actually have a sketch by Jason from the regular hobby boxes, and I can report the cards they drew on are similar at a glance, but different upon close inspection. The Hobby box sketchs have a copyright of 2008 on them while the San Diego set sketches are copyrighted 2009. There is also some different wording on the 2 card backs. This is good news for those in the future who may wonder whether a sketch is from the Hobby boxes or the San Diego sets.

As for the costumes, I got SDC 1 and 2 (Dexter and Rita) so I'd just need SDC #3 (Astor costume) for a full set of those. I also got the 7 inserts with the exclusive red foil (one from each insert set) as advertised. By my math, the cards from the larger insert sets are limited to only 50 of each card, while there should be 200 of each insert card from those insert sets made up of only 2 cards. Pretty rare, anyway you "slice" them. The Red foil is most striking on the "Dark Defender" cards as it really makes the comic book type logo stand out on those cards.

Good stuff! I see most if not all of the 5 or 6 non sports dealers in the great hall have these sets for sale. They were still available as of Friday afternoon, but I hope they will be sold out by Sunday, there are certainly enough Dexter fans in San Diego, and this set would likely interest some of them, provided they hear about it. The Entertainment Earth booth that sells the Dexter collectible toy items seems to be doing very well, but they've got a great location and have signings planned with various cast members throughout the weekend.

Really interesting inserts...would love to get a hold of a set of these 3 costume card SDCC inserts...any ideas?

...even individual cards...???

I wonder if any boxes are still available...how much did they charge per box?

Thanks for posting these...very interesting... Eek Thumb Up

They were about $65 and I did see some left on Sunday on at least one of the dealers' tables (there were 5 or 6 nonsports specialists at the show and I think they all had them) with only a few hours left in the show, so presumably at least a few sealed sets remain and can still be had by mail order if you want to try your luck.

It wasn't revealed until the box sets were in hand at the show that each one would include a sketch card and indeed, one of the dealers selling them didn't even realize that until I pointed it out to him on the sticker on the back of the box.

I am mostly an autograph card collector, although I'm interested in all the Dexter cards because I like the show so much.

Even so, I could definitely be persuaded to trade those two costume cards shown for a Len Bellinger sketch, if you had any ideas on how to get one of those. Big Grin

Here's my case highlights. I got it a few weeks ago but was so busy with preparations for the Comic Con, that I was only able to scan today:

As you can see, no sketch in my case, not as a case topper, but not in the packs I mean. Anyway, when Tom heard of this, he responded in typical heroic fashion and provided my this beauty by Jason Carrier. Thanks, Tom!

I would have been happy enough with the other stuff, but the sketch card really capped off one of the most enjoyable case busting experiences I've had in a long time.
I received 20 base sets, and only enough dupes for about a set and a half more had everything been perfect (it was pretty close as it was!).

As far as the foils go, I got one complete set of 27, one near set of 26, and a few triples.

Only missing 4 costumes and I got 3 of the 5 props including the hand with a gruesome cut right in the middle of it. Thumb Up

I got 6 nice autographs as you can see. Dexter himself would've been great, but I'm lucky enough to have Michael C. Hall's signature from the RA "Six Feet Under" card set, and I liked that show at least much as Dexter (which I love!), so it's a nice consolation. Might have to pick up a Debra auto online, though, or perhaps she'll sign a double with Michael (also her husband in real life if you didn't know) for the next "Dexter" set, in which case that card would be on the absolute top of my want list.

To sum up, I'll just say it is a rare experience indeed to open a case of cards and have over 90 percent of the "hits" go into my permanent collection. That's really the highest praise I can give it.

This is a grade A set, get it while you can!
