Not a lot to say "hooray" about some of the sketch cards from a full case. It seems its getting harder to find some real good sketches from Star Wars. The Medallion cards are cool, would be nice to have a full set!

I like Henderson's Chewbacca. Can someone please tell me what the ink stained Yoda is supposed to mean? There is an ink stained Han Solo on page 1, I guess from the same artist.
Those sketches aren't that bad, but the colored spots make them bad.

The artist is fighting a crippling addiction to Slurpees from 7-11 but is getting better every day. He slips now and again, and it shows in his work. One day at a time...
Actually Jason Hughes has used this style on a few series now. I like the idea but he should use more than one color. You can see he's using the appropriate color splash for the character depicted, but the characters have more than one associated color to use. Green is obvious for Yoda, but you can use brown for his robe, and even blue for the light side of the Force in the background. As long as the nice drawing shows through, multiple colors would be a better effect.
I get my boxes tomorrow, will post results soon.

Sketches (13):
Shaak Ti by Sly Steve Lydic IG-88 by Deep Captain Panaka by ? Clone Trooper Commander ? by Chris Dee IG-88 by Ian Yoshio Roberts Gamorrean Guard by Linzy ? by Strephon Taylor
Obi-Wan Kenobi by Val Hochberg Princess Leia by Alex Buechel C-3PO by ? (sig looks like Lee something) Jango Fett by ? Darth Maul ? by ? Mira? does she mean Mara Jade? by Irma Ahmed
I also received 3 different gold parallels numbered out of 10, 9 different red parallels numbered out of 35 including two which had the serial number 35/35 and 108 different blue parallels out of 350 including one which was numbered 350/350.
All in all my opinion is that this case was quite good- the sketches for the most part were colorful and well executed and while there was no really good auto hit, getting six different was nice. I'll definitely be opening more of this product in the coming weeks and most likely will have pretty much everything available for sale at some point.
comments are appreciated!
Dave
ps: help with the characters/artists also much appreciated

The C3PO artist is hard to tell without seeing the signature. Lee Lightfoot was on the set, but his sig is a lowercase l. Lee Bradley was on the set ... could be him. Would need to see the signature though.

6 boxes for me this time around. I may get six more, we'll see.
The set is great again, and is once again really 4 sets in one, this time:
Prequel Movies Original Trilogy Expanded Universe/Clone Wars Weapons/Places/Planets
The 6 boxes made 3 base sets and close to a 4th with an extra hundred or so dupes. The normal chase sets basically sorted well, but I oddly didn't get any of the #1 insert cards from 2 of the 4 easy insert sets and none of the three base variant cards, so that makes me think my six boxes from the same case, in which event the other 6 boxes from that case probably have a set of the variants and plenty of the #1's from those two easy sets.
The inserts were 4 autos (including a Dual), 2 Medallions (which are superb, an upgrade on the nice patches from Series 1). No Plates for me, and just one Gold (R2-D2) with the rest shown being reds. (which I scanned since I usually sell/trade those).
Box 1
Box 2 an excellent Stormtrooper Sketch
Box 3 Kimberly Dunaway with lots of color
Box 4 Good ol' Lak Lim never lets me down!
Box 5 Definite candidate for erasure. A blank card in my binder would be better than this.
Box 6 Cool Hammerhead sketch AND a dual auto. Nice makeup for box 5 "Chewbacca"
I'll likely get 6 more boxes, and then see how it all shakes out, but there's no way I'll be doing the two case thing I did on the previous series. I do want to do the Blue variant set this time, so I'd consider some trades of what I got for large bulks of those since I've only got the 50 or so Blues from the six boxes currently.
Good set, bring on Series 3.

I just opened my 2nd box. Both pencil sketches were of such a poor quality it was not worth my time to scan. $200 bucks down the drain again with Topps. I do like the quality of the base set.

Yes, medallions which I think look pretty good except there manufactured not true prop cards. I'm looking forward to seeing what Disney does with the franchise.

No, my point was for $100 I felt I received little value. It would have been more valuable if they were prop cards. When I pre-ordered my boxes I knew what the box break was I was just expecting a little better sketch. Looking at the case breaks you guys got some really good sketches but also to be fair some real stinkers.
