Oh, yep. I didn't even notice that.

What is a shortfall variant card? Is there only one of it?

Thanks!

It seems that Topps have put a selection of un-numbered gold foil parallel cards into their packs (~1 per case). They have a small Tardis on the front of the card instead of a 'DW' symbol, hence people are calling them variants. They do not appear to be unique, but are extremely rare.

I've just been through my cards again and I've got 2 base cards with the Tardis instead of the DW logo.
I reckon there might one of those per box regardless of foil colour.

You must have been unlucky. I just opened 2 more boxes and got 1 in each box.

DOCTOR WHO (TOPPS 2015)

Opened a case of this much anticipated product from Topps 2015.

I found when I opened the package that within the external packaging the case had been opened (possibly by customs).

Base x6

Inserts
Companions x7
Gadgets x3
Who is the doctor x3
Christmas Time x4
Memorable Moments x14

Tardis Cards (Variants)
Base x13
Gold x2

Parallel cards
Limited to 199 - 52 cards
Limited to 99 - 26
Limited to 50 - 13

Plates
No84 - Mother Bloodtide - yellow
No78 Krafayis - Magenta

Autos
Deborah Watling
Jimmy Vee
Paul McGann 5/50
Struan Rodger 23/25

Costume Cards
Rory Williams
Ood x3
Sally Sparrow x2

Tardis Patch Cards
Patch cards unnumbered x6
Limited to 99 - x5
Limited to 25 - Martha Jones 9/25

Was a bit disturbed when I found the case open, but it was perfect collation. Thought I was an auto short, but probably got an extra plate instead. Nice set overall, Topps have done a good job, but I cannot understand the purpose of having more insert sets of a particular insert compared to the number of base sets compiled within a case. It doesn't make any sense.

Variants are interesting, as this set only covers a limited part of the base set and not all of them; our friend Jeff Allender will have fun trying to find out the complete list of these.

I got 2 boxes and got the following

1) 2 patch cards ( Barbara Wright and the The Second Doctor)

2) 1 Costume Card ( The Ood)

3) 1 Autograph Card( Catrin Steward as Jenny Flint 31/50)

and I also got the right amount of chase and parallel cards

Overall very happy with what I pulled

From a very happy Millhouse

Everybody seems to be seeing the same 17, and the speculation is that these are all of them.

(1-9-10-11-12-25-31-37-38-41-42-43-45-59-87-163-165. I haven't seen gold TARDIS versions of 10-37-43 yet.)

1:25 might explain why AJJ didn't have one in his box.

I decided to get a couple more boxes. Did much better this time in terms of autographs:

Box 1:
Bernard Cribbins autograph
Ace Tardis Patch

Box 2:
Alan Ruscoe autographed (#01/50)
The Sixth Doctor Tardis Patch

The other chase fell as expected. Out of the 6 boxes I opened, I did get 6 TARDIS Short Print Variant cards.
