Which 2 ??

106 and 179. From looking at the patterns across the boxes, I didn't see some of the "clusters" I saw with New Avengers, where I suspect some extras were more common at one end of a case than the other. Here, the only four-copy items were 1-2-1 in my three boxes. I don't mind at all if they were removed to make room for the four autos I found in the first box. Wink

I did like the total autograph distribution, but darn it I have another really tough Peter Davison to chase after. I'm missing only him and Tom Baker from Series 1 for master auto sets of Definitive 1-2-3. (Patience has paid off for the rest ...)

I've finally completed opening my case of DW trilogy (numbered 0313 to 0324);

There were 2 sketches (both by Nik: one colour Dalek as posted earlier in the thread, and one of Pertwee as The Doctor).

The case also produced:

3 of the 4 costume cards (the Sgt Benton one was missing),

4 full sets of foils plus one spare, as one box had 7 foils in it.

1 full set of autos plus 4 short of a second set. Amazingly, there were TWO Peter Davison autos in the case, which I understand is the rarest one and should be only one per case??

Overall collation was excellent, with a full base set in every box and plenty of extra sets made up from the spares, with no box having 3 of any base card.

My box finally arrived.

Base set x1
Foils x6
Autos: DWT-A2 Lalla Ward - Romana II
DWT-A11 Rodney Bewes - Stien
DWT-A12 Michael Jayston - The Valeyard

Was a promo card included as a box topper in every box? I ask because my box had one and I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere.

Finally got aroung to opening the packs from my 2nd box. Pulled autos A2 Lalla Ward ans A10 Zienia Merton.

Sadly the Zenia is quite badly damaged, There is a large smudge in the center of the card, like there was a sticker put there some time and then peeled off. There are also several scratches on the card Frown
Here, take a look:

Boldlygone, I would write to Barrie, see what he has to say, he is usually sympathetic.

It's a real pity for that card.

Call me cynical, but I have a horrible suspician, that some dealers, once they have pulled the rarer cards, the rest of the boxes go on ebay.

For this reason I try to get my boxes on preorder.

Of course I may be totally wrong, and I expect a lot of people to tell me so.

Apologies to all those honest dealers out there. I know all dealers are not the same.

i get that impression a lot on all sketch card products. i think thats why we see a premium being put on sealed cases, especially on products that are all about sketch cards, its why cases of thoes products sell better then the loose boxes do. its becouse people know no ones been monkeying around with em (only reason that makes sense).

Wow, not only no sketches, but you appear to cornering the market on Lalla Ward A2 autograph cards as well! Eek Four of them in 9 boxes. Was she the most prolific signer or was that just more of your unfortunate luck? Confused

I hope that you can trade or sell your extras so that you can get more of what you want from the set.
