It was good to meet you too.

I've just found out that NIK is an old friend of mine. Hope I'm lucky enough to pull a NIK card from my boxes.

Sketch cards are hard to find in this set, one case had 1 the other two had 2 each. that works out at about 1 per 7 or 8 boxes that I have done already. That said they are very nice when you get them. All of mine have been Walt Howarth sketches and I cant say I'm sorry about that. I sold two of them recently (the tenant and tardis on the SI site and something else i'll post scans later) and only becuse I had one very nice one to keep. So far every case has provided a compleat set of autos.

And thank you for selling it from the one who won it on eBay Dance

I think I got it too cheaply as
1). It is by Walt Howarth the legendary Dr Who artist from the golden days of Dr Who annuals
and
2). redemption sketch cards are now selling at about GBP56-GBP142 on eBay

I think you got a bargain as well and it was one of the many cards I was tempted very much to keep, did you see the other dealers bidding on it? I’m pleased it’s gone to a good home. I have kept a Howarth Dalek the Master and the First Dr. I had to let one go and that was it. I was told to put it up with a BIN of £200 but I don’t feel the need to be greedy you know? I was happy with the price you paid! Have you recived it yet it was posted a Monday.

The first Dr Sketch card I got was amazing it’s not the first one on Walts list but the second one with the sly grin. I doubt I will ever part with that! I kept the Dalek because it reminds me of the 1979 Daleks annual cover! And my partner likes the Master so I kept that one as well! We actually had an artist working on the sets for Barrie his cards are signed Victor but his real name is Chris Mabbot and I will be posting more info about his work once I get permission from some of the others involved.

I can see why you want to keep that it is very nice. It's a shame that Chris Mabbot's sketches aren't up on the SI web-site. Does anybody know why??

Got my two boxes today. Haven't had time yet to crack open the packs, but I have broken the seal on the boxes as I heard there were box-toppers. One box did not have a BT, the 2nd box did.
Card WHOT-C2 a costume card, uniform of Sergeant Benton (John Levene)

Are the sketch cards Box Toppers or are they inserted into packs?

Doctor Who Doctors-Companions-Villains (Trilogy)

Box: 36 packs of 10 cards, 12 boxes/case, 250 cases total
Base Sets (200): approx. 1.76 per box if collation were perfect
Acquired: 3 boxes with consecutive numbers

Box 0427

1 base set, needing 118 for a second set.
6 gold foil cards (1:6 packs)
4 autographs (1:14 packs)
0 costume cards
0 sketch cards

Box 0428

0 base set, needing 19 for first set.
6 gold foil cards (1:6 packs)
2 autographs (1:14 packs)
0 costume cards
1 sketch card: Cynthia Cummens (my first Cynthia Luv You)

Box 0429

1 base set, needing 49 for a second set.
6 gold foil cards (1:6 packs)
3 autographs (1:14 packs)
0 costume cards
0 sketch cards

Auto list:
DWT-A2: Lalla Ward - Romana II
DWT-A3: Louise Jameson - Leela
DWT-A6: Nicholas Courtney - Bret Vyon in The Daleks' Master Plan
DWT-A7: Terrance Dicks - Writer/Script-Editor
DWT-A9: Michael Elwyn - Lt Algernon ffinch in The Highlanders
DWT-A10: Zienia Merton - Ping-Cho in Marco Polo
DWT-A13: Alexei Sayle - DJ in Revelation of the Daleks
DWT-A14: David Troughton - King Peladon in The Curse of Peladon
DWT-A16: Terry Molloy - Davros

Consecutive boxes had different gold foils, and I had three dupes in the first and third boxes so I had 15 of the complete set of 18.

One box didn't meet the guarantee of "one complete base set per box" but its companion box had three of each of the missing numbers, so I got my quota. (And where would the Doctors be without Companions, anyway?) Across the three boxes I was short only 2 cards from 5 complete base sets. Those two were probably replaced by autos.

A nice sketch card, allender, and 4 autos from a box is pretty neat too. Clap

Noticed that this set is being sold in my local Toys R Us from open boxes: question is, what happened to any box toppers when they are sold on the counter this way??? Confused
