Thanks to Doctor Jas I now have a complete set of Dalek Casino chips. Nice person to deal with and very helpful with some useful advice. I'm glad I stumbled across this forum, even though I doubt I'll ever become a very active member Smile

Doctor Jas is just about the nicest chap I've dealt with in 28 years of collecting, and I really can't recommend him highly enough. Metal

Thanks to a bit of luck and some bidding advice from Doctor Jas, I've been able to add the other half of the Medusa sketch to my collection. I hope no-one minds if I post the completed picture on this thread as it seems the most appropriate place for it:

Another role of the dice produced a really nice set in Yearset 143 with a gorgeous Cyclops by Robert Aragon, two great scenes from Chris Henderson, a cute Mighty Joe Young by Jeff Chandler and a really interesting 2000AD image from Warren Martineck:

The Martineck sketch is different to any other cards I've seen so far as it has a piece deliberately cut out of it. The white slash in the picture caused by 'Mean' Machine's talon has actually been cut out of the card for extra effect Smile

That is very unusual but good.

I dare you to send it back and complain that is damaged. Big Grin

I think Barrie's had quite enough messages from me over the past couple of weeks, so I think I'll pass on your suggestion wolfie...though it would be fun Thumb Up I think it might be almost as much fun to stick it up on that well known auction site with a really silly asking price and see if the credit crunch has passed anyone by Big Grin

Nice card indeed Metal. The novelty value in itself would command good prices on that auction site IMHO.

Perhaps instead you should contact Mr Martineck and ask him if please you can have the missing bit of your card!! Dance

Now there's a thought Big Grin It would also give me an excuse to write and thank him for producing some of the best cards in the Harryhausen set. The Hare and the Tortoise card by him that I have is still my favourite card Thumb Up

His Whomobile sketch in my collection has to be double bagged to avoid me salivating on it...it's that good IMHO. Metal

Have done. I wonder if I'll get a reply ?

Also, to anyone reading this thread who was still thinking about ordering one of the Yearsets I'm afraid you've missed the boat. Aside from the 'Updating Store' notice on the Strictly Ink site which makes ordering a little tricky anyway, I had a brief chat to Barrie earlier today in which he said he was sending out the final orders/sets today.

Just to confirm that the Yearset has sold out. So if you want one of those RH sketches you'll just have to look out for them appearing on Fleabay or similar in the coming weeks.

Also, I had a nice reply from Warren Martineck Smile He has done a couple of other cut outs in cards but not for this 2000AD set. He even included a link to a Fantastic 4/Human Torch card that he trimmed with a lighter Eek

I think he might be talking about the one in the middle of the group on this page:
