I was extremely happy with the cards that I received, and while it was a bit pricey I really wanted to get some of the Harryhausen sketches (the main reason I bought it) so I was absolutely delighted with four of them - especially the Cyclops !!!

Hi, I'm not actually a card collector just a Ray Harryhausen fan but I thought other collectors might be interested in seeing what turned up in the two Yearboxes I received this morning:

All of the usual promo cards and Man from UNCLE preview sets

Both sets had the Roy Castle/Peter Cushing fascimile signatures and Robert Vaughn original signatures but the really interesting stuff is in the two images below.

Set 27/200

Can anyone identify the girl/woman in the Hack sketch in this set ?

Set 36/200

Between the two, I got 2x$50, 1x$100 and 1x$250 Dalek chips, so not quite a full set. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the contents as there are several excellent Harryhausen cards. Shame I only got half of the Medusa two parter though.

BTW, according to an email I got from Barrie, all of the Yearbox sets have four Harryhausen Sketch Cards.

Hi Kevin, welcome to card talk, you look like you got some good stuff there. Wavey

I think the girl in your sketch is Valerie Leon.

Oops almost forgot, I also received a Lewis Collins autograph card from The Professionals set as a bonus for buying two sets I suppose:

Thanks Wolfie, after doing a little googling I think you could be right about the identity of the mystery girl. To be honest the name did not ring a bell...but the Hai-Karate advert references I found did Big Grin

To Redemption. They're a bit rich for me too if the truth be known, so the non-Harryhausen items will almost certainly have to be sold along with some of the content from a 2006 Yearbox I also picked up recently (mainly for the Doctor Who content which turned out to be quite disappointing) to help cover the cost so far. I don't think I'll be taking up card collecting as a full time hobby. Far too expensive Frown

It is if you are collecting year boxes.

Try base sets. Big Grin

If you want the $25 chip send me an email (see my profile) and I'll swap you for your spare $50 chip

Unfortunately this years yearbox is not for me, not enough content that would interest me. Having said that there have been some nice Hammer pulls which would interest me as well as some of the autos. If you are interested in trading any of your spare cards for some Doctor Who ones drop me a e-mail Kevin. My e-mail address is in my profile.

If it's Harryhausen sketch cards you're looking for, many of the sketch artist do work on commission. That way you could also select the subject of the card.

They certainly are not cheap but it can work out better than buying single cards.

In the Complete CSI Miami I really only wanted the sketch and the Eve La Rue autograph so I sold the rest on Ebay.It workrd out that after all the fees etc the two cards I kept cost me £5 each Smile ,a lot less than I would have paid for those cards individually.
