World's Greatest Card Chase - Pack Edition
So this is a different kind of box breakdown. While shopping at Wal-mart yesterday we saw this box and it touts "FIND The Amazing Spider-Man #1 Comic", and "FIND 1977 Star Wars Series 1 First Ever Star WArs Cards 36 pack unopened box!" and "Uncover the Throwback Packs: Look for these Randomly Inserted Packs" and they list several of the ones inserted. Now there are just as many disclaimers on every side of the box but it was interesting enough that we bought it. Here are the packs we got :
[LIST]
  • Food Lion 1992 Fan Appreciation Tour cello wrapped packs
  • Jonny Quest The Real Adventures (by Upper Deck Francais) - yes folks, the pack is in French...
  • Fleer Ultra Reboot PREMIERE Edition (this one was Distributed in Canada)
  • Shrek 2 by Comic Images (with Cards Inc logo)
  • The X-Files Series One (Topps with Merlin logo)
  • Saban's VR Troopers 5 Card Piece Puzzle Pack
  • Street Fighter (Yah the Jean Claude Van Damme movie...never even knew these existed...)
  • Fleer 1995 AAAHH!!! Real Monsters
  • Mighty Morphin Power Rangers by Collect-A-Card
  • Topps' The Flintstones (Yes...the one with John Goodman as Fred) 5 Movie Cards AND 1 Stick of Topps Bubble Gum (the chase for this is 2 Foil Etched cards in every packs ... and the gum of course)
  • Guiness World Book of Records (my oldest snagged those up pretty quick)
  • TWO packs of TNA Impact cards
  • and 3 or 4 packs of Baseball cards - we don't do baseball so they kind of got tossed to the side

We opened the baseball, Guiness book and TNA cards - It was a fun box to open. We had no delusions that we would "win" any of the valuable packs, but it was interesting to note the high presence of foreign packs. So - what should we do with the remainder of packs? Keep them sealed for giggles - ooh maybe frame them - or open them and NOT EAT the gum ...
