Nice sketches, I wouldn't be unhappy with them.

The Sean Pence and Wilkinson are little beauts, the Tonnika Sister is a rare sketch, plus it goes with your auto card.

I was really pleased with the Sean Pence sketch - I think it's one of the sketches that I saw online before the release of the set.

After seeing it as a preview, I decided that I would buy a case.

How cool is that!

Finally got a box! Here's what I got:

Base Set - missing 7 cards (43 extras)
1 Box topper - #155 (3rd series; yellow)
8 Die-cut tryptic cards
2 Blue parallels - #62 & 101
1 Red parallel - #111
1 Autograph card - Richard LeParmentier (Admiral Motti)

I like to say that this is a great looking set. Say what you will about Topps, but they have done a nice job with this set. Hope to get another box soon.

Sketch- C3PO by Dave Dorman

Box 8:

Box Topper- 65

Red Foil- 79
Auto- Christina Hewett

-------------------------------------------------
Final breakdown:

Box Toppers- 8, 7 unique with 1 duplicate
Blue Foil- 18
Red Foil- 9
Gold Foil- 2, #93 (Home for a holiday 16/30), #6 (Characters '77, Princess Leia 24/30)
Autographs- 3, Ken Rolston, Lorne Peterson, Christina Hewett.
Sketch Cards- 7. 3 Fabbri, 1 Jessica Hickman, 1 Ryan Waterhouse, 1 Ingrid Hardy and 1 Dave Dorman.

Was very pleased to get the 2 golds, especially the Leia.

The 3 autos were pretty much the bottom of the barrel.

7 sketches surprised me quite a bit. Happy with them even though they are all pencil, although the Ingrid Hardy has some light color. Scans coming by the weekend.

Looks like you hold the current record Master. Out of the 3 cases I've cracked so far I received the following breakdown - 4S/4A, 4S/4A and 2S/6A. Kudos to you on getting a great case break.

For me, this was the worst product collation i've ever had. I am certainly not buying Heroes from Topps. fyi - 3 cases from 1 dealer, and 1 from another.

case 1:
6 common sets total
box toppers 82 x4, 87 x2, 97, 118
autos - jon berg x2, joe viskocil x2, norman reynolds, paul blake
gold foil #53 (22 of 30)
correct number of red and blue foils
2 Gutierrez pencil sketches - Biggs and unknown male (maybe Han)

case 2
10 common sets total
box toppers - 82, 87 x2, 97x2, 179 x3
correct number of blue and red foils
no gold foil
autos - kenny baker, paul blake, john dykstra, lorne peterson, joe viskocil
1 Gutierrez ink sketch (Sandperson)
1 Gould Sandtrooper (ink w/ gold shoulder pad)
1 Cook Sandperson

case 3
7 common sets total
box toppers 63, 67, 73, 81, 84, 87, 97, 198
correct number of blue and red foils; 9 duplicates of previous blue foils
gold foil 92 (20 of 30)
autos - garrick hagon, christine hewitt, norman reynolds, joe viskocil,
1 Wilkinson Chewbacca sketch (ink)
1 Cummens Death Star (color, firing blast)
1 Hodges Greedo (pencil)
1 Sohn Solo (pencil, beautiful card)

case 4 (different dealer)
7 boxes opened, 1 box saved for later
6 base sets in 7 boxes
box toppers 9, 50, 118, 167, 179, 180, 198
1 box no sketch or auto, and 2 red foils, no blue foils
otherwise, correct number of red and blue foils in 6 other boxes; 3 duplicates of previous blue foils
no gold foils in 7 boxes
autos - garrick hagon, richard leparmentier, ken ralston
1 Hardy Leia sketch (color, in rebel war room)
1 Waterhouse Greedo (ink)
1 Dalla Vecchia garbage monster (pencil)

if anyone knows that complaining to Topps customer service helps, i would

and I wanted to ask if anyone else had problems with the number of cards inserted per pack. In my first case throughout 6 of the 8 boxes, packs had as few as 2 cards and as many as 12 cards. Not what I would call quality control.

For the base cards, I didn't notice. But for sketch/auto insertion rates, there should be some sort of quality control. The average case should yield about 3 sketches, but some people have pulled up to 7, and some people (sigh...like me) only got 1. Hit or miss....that's all i can say.

Guess I should feel lucky...
Only pulled two sketches, and five autos with one dupe. Although, I am still trying to figure out what one of the sketches is supposed to be??? Confused

Sent my dud box off Monday with a counterpraise letter of endorsement. Mad

Quality control and Topps appear to be world's apart. Twak

Oh very, I was just relieved to beat the odds by pulling out 4 autos + 5 sketches although I'm not impressed by the Tom Hodges piece the rest more than make up for it.

I actually enjoyed the experience so much I'd like to get my hands on another case but the price now is a bit too rich for me given the odds of getting a miss case.
