Here's one from the "River and Lake Fish" 12-card set (USDA, 1995). The set was given away by the Forest Service in California. The cards measure 3 x 5 inches and were printed on thin stock. All but one of the fronts feature artwork by Joseph R. Tomellari. Most of them show a species of native fish with background info on the backs. There's also a header card plus two others with text on the back about ecology.

I've heard there was a similar set given away some other year but haven't seen it nor been told about it in more detail. There may be sets like it given out in other states as well.

Here's one from the "Car Craft Magazine" 6-card set (Playing Mantis, 2003) inserted one per package of Johnny Lightning Car Craft Magazine die-cast toy cars. The card fronts show classic Car Craft Magazine covers. Also included was a smaller magazine logo card (1 3/8 x 3 inches). Both have blank backs.

Here's a card that promotes a network marketing company, "21st Century Collectables" and The 1998 "National" (the National Sports Collectors Convention).

This card was given out by Chuck's Comics in Baltimore, Maryland during the holiday season in 1991. The artist is unknown and I couldn't find a match when I did a Google image search.

This is card #10 from "The Marilyn Collection" (Fox Video, 1992). It might be a 10-card set. One was card inserted per special edition, "The Marilyn Collection," videocassette. Text on the back provides background information on the movie.

Here's a header card for a 6-card promo pack. No one seems to know how the pack was distributed but it was probably sent to dealers. It shows the Lime Rock company logo on the front and is blank on the back. The rest of the cards were 3 promos for the "Dream Machines" card set (Lime Rock, 1991) and two base cards from the set.

This lenticular is from a 4-card Tarzan set (Disney/Nestle, undated but it was 2000). One card was attached per box of Nestle Chocopic cereal in France. It measures 3 3/4 x 5 inches and promotes the animated movie. The half-moon-shaped cut-out along the bottom edge is an artifact of its attachment to the box.

Here's the checklist:

n.n. (young Tarzan with ape and elephant)
n.n. (Tarzan sliding down branch)
n.n. (Tarzan fighting leopard)
n.n. (Tarzan and Jane)

This is an unnumbered card from the 42-card Marvel set (Playing Mantis, 2003) that was inserted one per package of Johnny Lightning Marvel die-cast-toy cars. The artwork comes from classic Marvel Comics covers. The cards are blank-backed and slightly narrower than standard size, measuring 2 3/8 x 3 1/2 inches.

Playing Mantis uses a number on the packaging to identify the car and the 42 cars are subdivided into 4 subsets (releases) though that number is on neither the car nor the card. This card was part of Release 3, a 12 car/card subset and packaged with car #28, '74 Ford Torino.

Here's a dual-image lenticular card from the "Captain Power" set (Landmark E.G., 1987). The source is unknown but it's believed to be a product premium from Canada. It measures 1 3/8 x 1 3/4 inches. It has French and English text on the back and promotes the short-lived "Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future" cartoon.

Here's an "I Love Lucy" lenticular motion promo given out only at the Kodak booth at a licensing trade show in the mid-late 90's. It shows a scene from an episode with Lucy popping out of a chimney in a cloud of smoke as "I Love Lucy" is being written in the upper right corner along with the date changing to a title in the upper left corner, ending with a close-up on Lucy. Kodak wanted to show what it could do with its "Kodamotion" technology it had developed by then. It's a high quality motion card - so good it was difficult to photograph at different points in the motion.

This card is hard enough to find but the packaging that came with it says there were five different ones. Also, finding this card has me a little more convinced that the other Kodak motion cards I have were trade show giveaways as well. A couple of them, those with little in the way of graphics, might be stages in the development of them.

This card (Warner Bros., undated but it was 2000) was inserted with the "Caddyshack" special edition VHS. It measures 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches and it has a blank back. It's part of the same set of smaller-version reproductions of lobby cards for various Warner Brothers movies as "The Outlaw Josey Wales" card I posted before. I'm thinking of starting a thread to show all the ones I have.

This is one of 4 "Deep Zone Sticker-Cards" from 2004 (card is undated). They were inserted one per package of Sugar Puffs cereal in the UK. Each one is wrapped in its own cello-pack and measures 2 7/8 x 5 3/4 inches. Each card front features a photo of a deepwater animal and has a blank back. If you peel off the sticker, you will reveal underlying artwork of and information about the animal. Here's the checklist:

n.n. "Deep Sea Jellyfish"
n.n. "Baby Chaunax"
n.n. "Spook Fish"
n.n. "Female Anglerfish"

Here's #47 from "The Original Monster in My Pocket Collectible Trading Cards" 48-card promo set (Morrison Entertainment Group, 1991). Specially-printed 3-card cello packs were given out at 7-1l stores. The packs have the 7-11 logo on the front and say "Not for Resale" on the back. There's also a very similar retail set that was sold in 7-card packs (6 cards, 1 sticker/checklist). The fronts are the same but the 7-11 cards are numbered (e.g. Collector #47 is card 47) in very small print under the MIMP logo on the back near the bottom (the card back shown below the card front). The retail cards are blank where the number would be (the card back shown next to the card front). These cards are often called "Monster in My Pocket" (or MIMP) for short.

They feature the artwork of Jack Davis spoofing football cards. They even have spoofy text stats on the backs. Here's the checklist:

n.n. "Coach"
n.n. "The Crusher"
n.n. "Hollywood"
n.n. "Krazy Karl"

Here are two promo cards that Image 2000 sent out to some of its customers, suppliers, and friends in 1994. They were packaged in sleeves attached to a Christmas card serial-numbered out of 1994 (cards themselves are not serial-numbered). The cards have gold foil lettering on the fronts. Image 2000 was a company that made several pin-up card sets in the mid-late 90's.

I posted this one in another thread but it's also an unlisted one so I'll put it here too. It mentions both Image 2000 and The Pin-Up Factory and was sent out to some of their customers when they knew their birthdays. It's marked "Card No. 2" and it measures 3 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. It says "For Promo Use Only Not for Retail Sale" on the back.

This is a Rollerball lenticular motion promo card (Metro Goldwyn Mayer, undated). You don't see too many of this one. It measures 2 x 4 inches. It says "A 7 POUND STEEL BALL" and a ball appears to be coming right at you. Then, there's a flash and the title appears. This card promotes the 2002 movie (a remake of a great 1975 film).

Here's a "Nick in the Afternoon"/Oscar Mayer lenticular motion promo (Kraft Foods/Viacom International, Inc./Eastman Kodak Company, 1996). The front shows an animated version of an old TV set with the Oscar Mayer logo on the screen along with an image of the company's "Weinermobile" beneath the TV. When you tilt the card backwards several characters featured on "Nick in the Afternoon" (block of cartoons that ran during the 90's) seem to burst from the Oscar Mayer logo and the Weinermobile transforms into the "Nick in the Afternoon" logo. The card back provides trademark and manufacturer information but is otherwise blank.

The card is thicker than the average lenticular card and shows high quality motion exceeding that of the average food premium/promo card. It was difficult to cleanly capture the motion with an iPhone camera. The source is unknown but it may be trade show giveaway. It's a cool card.

Here's a card promoting Dita von Teese's website from early in her career. It's an odd size at 2 5/8 x 4 1/8 inches. The card is undated but it's from the late 90's. I think it was given out only at a few shows.

She has been a model for Olivia De Berardinis since the 90's and appears on several of Olivia's Comic Images cards.
